Zafir is often times mistaken for Ethiopian or Somalian but he is Algerian. He comes from a Bedouin tribe and has the general appearance as such. He has a shock of white hair on his head that makes him stand out from the crowd. No one is sure where he got his hair from. He is said to be the only one in his entire family to have hair this color. Perhaps it has to do with his mutation? He has the name Shou tattooed on the back of his neck. Many people don't notice it. His green hazel eyes are said to hypnotize people. He has almost a burnt caramel complexion. He is said to be very handsome.

Powers:

Ability to control the earth: Zafir is able to control the earth even to the lowest possible level. He can detect even the smallest granule of dirt and would be able to control it. He has the ability to cause small to moderate earthquakes but that would drain him after a considerable amount of power usage. Zafir has already mastered creating trembles with his abilities but he has not been able to create a complete earthquake. Upon mastery of his powers Zafir stands to be able to cause an earthquake that can span up to five miles. His other powers seem to be stronger than his ability to create earthquakes.

With his abilitiy to control sand,dirt(Earth), and dust he is able to move it and mold it to his will. He is able to do whatever his mind thinks of when it comes to moving the materials in their raw form. It As of this moment he can only move up to one hundred pounds of earth,sand, dust, but as he continues to master his powers this will increase. Test have not yet been conducted to determine his full potential.

Zafir also has seismic sense. He is able to "see" even in complete darkness based on vibrations that are put out when things move. Either his hands or feet must be placed on the ground. As a result of his seismic sight Adhmar tends to wear thinner soled shoes when out on mock missions or in training to be able to better use his powers. He is hoping to learn to truly control his powers at the school.

Weaknesses:

As a Muslim Zafir does not eat pork. If he were to eat pork it would make him very sick. Water is not his friend. Sure he uses it to drink and bathe but other than that it is a complete hindrance for him as it makes it so much harder to control the earth. Wearing thick soled shoes dampen his ability to see and sense thing using his seismic sight so at times he is left with just his regular sight. He must concentrate completely when he is moving the earth or attempting an earthquake and that makes him a bit more "vulnerable" or "open" to attacks. He will not be able to effectively block attacks while moving the earth same time until he is properly trained in his powers. Zafir also has some emotional issues that make him a little less empathetic than the average person. He tends to lack complete emotions at time yet he is very sensitive because of his own past.

Getting to the Root of the Problem

Personality:

Zafir is not what many would think of him. He is a very peaceful soul. He is your traditional Algerian teen. The difference is for the first ten years of his life he was raised in a Muslim Bedouin tribe. It was after some time they decided to leave that lifestyle and live a more stable lifestyle. This left Zafir a bit of a shy boy. However he is what many would describe him as personable and very caring.

Coming from such a conservative society he has learned to do a lot of things in secret. He tries his best to please everyone around him. He always looked up to his father. Even after his father essentially disowned him once he found out about his mutation Zafir still looked to his father for everything. One could say he is a daddy's boy. His father is his world. He loves his mom but he has always been close to his father. His father no longer wanting to return the same love has damaged him. The pair are currently trying to work through their problems.

Background:

Born into a traditional Bedouin Muslim tribe in Algeria, Zafir lived the life of a boy growing up in a Bedouin tribe. He always knew in his mind he was a bit different from everyone one else. He just didn't understand how different. He always thought that he was just your average child. He had to admit to himself that he didn't really understand why they lived how they did. He always wanted to have a typical upbringing with a house and a car and going to a traditional school.

While he was a very intelligent child and always at the top of his studies Zafir felt he was missing something essential by not having the stability he saw or read about in newspapers. It was after many years that his parents finally decided it was best to leave the Bedouin lifestyle. Zafir was perhaps happiest about this. He excelled once he was enrolled in a proper school. He pledged to himself that he would finally retire both his parents so they would not have to work so hard for the rest of their lives. However things aren't always peaceful in life. Zafir was soon introduced to his powers.

His powers weren't the only things he had to get used to either. Starting in high school he found that he didn't just find girls attractive, he also found men to be of his liking. He didn't know what was wrong with him. He thought perhaps his hormones were out of whack. After doing research in secret he found that it was perfectly "natural" for him to like both boys and girls. He found it quite hilarious that what he liked in girls he liked the total opposite in boys. He tends to like a good girl but love a bad boy. He still can't figure out why he likes bad boys so much but maybe it is the eternal pain being fed by their treatment of him. He can't get the love he wants from his father so he takes the love of bad boys and men. He has been in several rough relationships with men where he has been abused. When it comes to girls he tends to like one night stands more. He doesn't want to be attached to them. His behavior goes completely against his Muslim upbringing which causes many problems for him at times.

The one thing Zafir has an unchanging love for is his weapons. He actually has what some would consider an unhealthy obsession. He believes otherwise. He was trained from very early on to track and hunt. This actually helped him once he started to learn to master the katanas, throwing knives and shurikens. When his family left their bedouin tribe he got involved with a Japanese/Filipino gangster. That was what led to his first abusive relationship in regards to men. At first it all seemed to be going well. Shou Takumi that was his first love...he trained him to fight and he trained him with his weapons. He also trained him to shoot a gun with both eyes closed and not miss a target.With his hunting skills already an integral part of him he seemed to be a natural at picking up on the skills. He had used a bow and arrow many times when he was younger. He thought it was quite similar. Thus his love was born for his weapons. Many wonder how he got out of that relationship alive...Well it is obvious isn't it? Both couldn't leave alive. It seemed that Shou had created his very own monster. Zafir had become an assassin for Shou and he had killed many people either for money they owed his lover or for a vendetta he had against them. It was his own turn to pay and Zafir killed him fearing that if he didn't kill him first, Shou would surely kill him...
