Caught Out of Bed(Forge/Open)

Spring would soon be in the air and the nights wouldn't nearly be as cold as they are at the very moment. The young Brazilian stood from his bed in the X-mansion and walked to his closet. His cousin had sent him a text earlier that day telling him they would be having a house party that night. He was ecstatic. Unfortunately for him today was a Thursday and curfew for students remained in tact. Adhmar however did not care. He couldn't stay locked up in the school, he had to get out or he would go crazy. He hadn't left the school after curfew in a while. He had a few close calls and decided to lay low for a while. Since Forge was around the schools security systems had been updated and he even added a lock to the student parking garage. During Monday through Thursday the garage would lock after a certain time not allowing students access to exit unless the emergency code was used. That was not a good thing for Adhmar.

He thumbed through the closet quickly knowing he didn't have much time before his ride would show up at their agreed meeting spot. He had to convince a few of his friends who were in town from Brazil visiting to come all the way to the school and get him and then take him to his cousins home all the way in Brooklyn. If they weren't attending the party as well he was sure they wouldn't have agreed to it. They were all sure the party on this night would be EPIC. Adhmar had already taken his shower and now he was dressed. He wore dark wash denim jeans with black Ralph Lauren boots and a black v-neck shirt with a leather jacket and a scarf around his neck. His jet black hair that reached the middle of his back was pulled up into a ponytail. His earring shined brightly against all of the black he had on. He checked his reflection quickly before exiting his room.

The staff of the school had already gone around and made their rounds making sure everyone was "tucked in" for the night. He checked to make sure he had his iPhone and wallet and slowly crept through the halls. Then the thought crossed through his mind...The alarm would go off...**Crap** he thought to himself. He quickly returned to his room and opened the window that was in there. Forge had really made this sneaking out thing difficult. He smirked as he pushed the window open and said,**I'll have to remember to tell him thanks.** Looking at the ground far below him he jumped out of the window and created a wind current to allow him to hover and slowly land on the ground. Looking around he made sure no one was walking around the grounds. He flew back up to his window and closed it down just enough to where he would still be able to get in once he returned.

The young mutant bid the school farewell and flew higher into the night sky. He flew over the roof and enjoyed the cool breeze that washed over his face. He flew over the deserted grounds until he reached his destination. Talking to himself once more he said,**Man...the school grounds are huge** He landed a few feet away from the car and walked over quickly and slid into the back seat. After closing the door they were off! Adhmar and his friends laughed and enjoyed themselves reaching Brooklyn before they even knew it. The music from the party could be heard even before entering the house. Adhmar knew his cousins knew how to throw a party and that they would do tonight...PARTY.

The sounds of reggae, dancehall, soca, Brazilian funk, and of course samba filled the street. The brownstone was packed with bodies moving to the bass of the music. The air was filled with laughter and the distinct smell of marijuana smoke. Adhmar frowned because he could not stand the stuff and he didn't want it to get in his clothes. He didn't understand how people could even smoke the vile substance. He heard the shrill sound of his cousins wife who was from the island nation of Trinidad and Tobago cursing people for smoking the substance so he smiled a bit that someone besides him was telling people to put out the substance. She smiled and greeted Adhmar doing the traditional kiss on each cheek as they spoke with one another. Informing him there was plenty of food and drinks she quickly walked off to entertain the other guests as best as she could.

Adhmar turned and went to go mingle within the crowd as he heard his name being called, "AD...AD..AD!!! Ei!! OLHE!!! venha ca!! VENHA!!" Turning quickly he saw his cousin approaching him with a wide grin on his face. The mutant quickly returned the smile as he approached his older cousin. The two males embraced in tight hug. He was like an older brother for Adhmar. Although he had his own older siblings he and his cousin were always close because he would allow Adhmar to tag along and wouldn't get annoyed like his own siblings would. The two spoke as they walked through the party. Adhmar could tell tonight would indeed be EPIC.

Forge had awoken to nightmares of burning jungles and gunfire, and the scent of napalm lingered in his nose even after he'd pushed himself into a sitting position. Strange. It had been years since that particular nightmare had cropped up. He couldn't say he minded its absence. Forge swung his leg over the side of the bed, sitting still for a moment as his heart rate returned to normal. It wasn't all that late—just before midnight—but the mansion around him was completely quiet. No napalm. No demon invasion. There was still no way he was getting back to sleep for a while, unfortunately. Reaching down in the dark, he fumbled until he found his cybernetic leg, and attached it with practiced ease. He figured he'd dick around on Reddit for a few hours, and then try going back to sleep. Cat pictures were pretty much the same as therapy.

A blinking light hear his computer caught Forge's attention, and he frowned. Huh, something had set off one of the security alarms. Probably just a cat or something—any large threat would warrant something more obnoxious than a blinking light—but it was still worth checking out. He booted up his computer, and it came to life almost instantly. He brought up the security interface, checking the time and location of the breach. About a half-hour ago, outside the west wing. Oddly enough, none of the cameras seemed to have picked up anything—wait. There was something in the corner of one of the rooftop cameras. Forge panned over to it, eyes widening as he saw who it was. And then he started to chuckle.

Adhmar. That kid was going places. Maybe not good places, granted, but he'd managed to avoid setting off all but one minor alarm. Clever boy. A few weeks ago, that would have earned him a night out in Forge's book. Unfortunately, he'd had a heated discussion with Scott on the subject a few weeks ago, in regards to another wandering student. Like Summers hadn't done exactly the same thing when he was a teenager. Still, it seemed Kyle had spoiled the freedom of sneaking out for a while. Forge was incredibly tempted to wake Scott up and let him deal with the issue—it was his rule—but decided against it after a minute. No; Adhmar didn't need the kind of trouble that Scott would bring. Forge would simply find the boy, collect him from whatever trouble he was getting into, and give him a stern lecture on the ride back. More-or-less painless for both of them.

A little more searching revealed that Adhmar hadn't managed to break into the garage, and instead flew off to some car waiting for him. Huh. Well-planned. He couldn't pick up a plate on the vehicle, unfortunately, which meant Forge was going to have to use a different tactic. The boy had a cell phone, right? With a few clicks, his file was up. Yup. iPhone, naturally. Forge dialed the number and waited. If he was lucky, maybe Adhmar would pick it up, realize he was in trouble, and get his butt back to the school before Forge needed to go find him. But even if the boy was smart enough to not pick up, he could still track the phone's location. And then he'd have to go hunting for a teenage boy in the middle of the night. Adhmar was lucky Forge was nicer than many of the teachers.

The party was in full swing. He was enjoying being around friends and family. There were more strangers than anything else but he was sure that wouldn't be an issue. In the back of his mind there was always that feeling that kept him alert to his surroundings. Adhmar had to remember he was a mutant and that not everyone was okay with that. He also had to remember that just because someone appeared normal didn't necessarily mean they were. He had been training with Storm a lot recently in regards to his mental barriers. He didn't want to be caught off guard by some kind of mental attack. Considering their powers were so similar who better to train him? He had to keep am eye out for any potential dangers. He sipped on the Coke in his hand and danced to the music.

He enjoyed attending the school but he often felt as if they were under constant surveillance. It wasn't necessarily the cameras because that was in place to keep them safe but there were far too many rules. Adhmar felt that since he was an older student there should be less rules for them. He did well in his studies and he never got into trouble around the school so why were there so many rules in place? "You can't do this...you can't do that...You can do this but then you can't do that." It was annoying. Scott or "Cyclops" was the leader of it all. Many of the students silently loathed him. Of course he had his pets who told him everything and who would tell if someone were "stepping out of line." Adhmar actually preferred Forge and surprisingly wolverine. Forge was more like himself, easy going, laid back and just a natural nice guy. Wolverine however was hard on them. He expected them to always put their best foot forward and not chicken out.

The elder mutant always pushed them in their training sessions be it out in the fields or in the danger room. Thinking of all of this caused Adhmar to become a bit upset. He realized the can he was holding was now crushed in his hand. A clap of thunder could be heard far off in the distance. He shook his head clearing his thoughts and went back to focusing on the party. Suddenly his side started vibrating. He grabbed at his phone and saw that it was Forge calling him. He said to himself, **Crap...I think of the guy all of two seconds and here he is calling my phone...How did he figure out I was gone?** Next tight let out a low sigh. He hated to do this to Forge but he wasn't coming back to the school...well not yet. He looked at the screen a second longer and pressed the ignore button and returned the phone to his holster.

After returning the phone to its place he felt a hard shove from behind. He had been pushed by two guys who were arguing with one another. He turned to them and said his accent becoming even stronger in his irritation, "Hey assholes...watch what you're doing...Take that crap outside... " One of the men turned and looked to Adhmar and said, "How about you watch where you're standing...boy...." Adhmar was livid. He was ready to punch the jerk in his face but he opted to just walk away and join his cousin to avoid a fight...

To Forge's disappointment—if not his surprise—Adhmar's phone went to voicemail after a few seconds. He paused, checking to see if he'd gotten a location on the phone. There. A house in Brooklyn. For a second he considered getting a satellite view on the building, but decided against it. It was probably just a party or something; he didn't think Adhmar was the type to get himself into serious trouble. That wouldn't stop him from bringing his communicator, though. Going out without it was just asking for trouble, even if he suspected the worst that would happen was dragging the boy out by his ear.

Forge quickly changed into a t-shirt and pair of jeans, not bothering to cover up his prosthetic arm. The synthetic cover limited its functionality and, as with the communicator, he didn't feel like tempting fate. More importantly, he couldn't really be bothered with pulling the cover on and making sure it wasn't twisted. Besides, if he was dragging Adhmar out of a party, it would make him significantly more intimidating. Scribbling down the address, Forge exited his room. For a second he was tempted to head towards the hangar—breaking up a house party with the Blackbird sounded amazing—but he began the trip to the garage instead. He should probably keep this as quiet as possible, or half the staff would end up angry with the kid.

Finally out of the mansion, Forge made his way into the suburbs of Westchester County, and then into the city itself. Even at midnight, traffic was still pretty heavy, but he was making decent time. Providing the place wasn't too difficult to find, he'd be there in a few minutes.

Adhmar found a hot Brazilian girl to dance with. They moved to the music in a very provocative manner. Adhmar and the girl even found themselves making out on the wall for a moment before the girl was rudely snatched off of him. A guy stood blocking Adhmar and the girl. Cocking his head to the side the young mutant looked at the guy questioningly and says, "Is there a problem here?" The guy furious says, "Yeah SPIC...you're all on my girl." Adhmar instantly became furious. He was already a mutant and that brings him enough strife then this guy uses that horrible word against him?!?! He wasn't having it.The boy in front of him he was your "typical" "All-American" boy. He had blond hair, blue eyes. The supposed "boy-next door" type. He stood about two inches shorter than Adhmar. Their eyes locked with one another.Adhmar took a deep breath, "It seems your girlfriend didn't have a problem with it."

The boy let out a low growl. Adhmar cocked an eyebrow looking at him like, **what are you going to do?** Taking the chance to point out something else obvious to the guy, "Also you kind of disrespected your girlfriend as well by calling me a spic...That is really hurtful you know?" The unknown boy looked at Adhmar and shoved him saying, "SHUT IT! Before I make you..." The fiery mutant challenged him and said quickly, "Make me!" It was only a matter of moments before the meat head had leaned back and came for with a slap that sent Adhmar flying across the room. Scrambling to his feet Adhmar looked at him in confusion. He was a mutant. He had to be one. That was the only way he would have been able to send him across the room with just one hit.

The house party stopped abruptly and people started running while screaming. This was his cousin's house and he was not about to help destroy it. Holding up his hands Adhmar said, "WAIT!!...Let's go outside...Let's make this fight fair. I don't want to destroy my cousins home." If the jock considered himself any type of man he would be willing to settle this outside. Eyeing him for a moment the meat-head turned and went towards the front door snatching it open. His cronies followed silently. Adhmar took a deep breath and followed quietly. He paused for a moment when his cousin looked at him. His cousin had gone into big brother mode. Shaking his head signaling him not to follow Adhmar stepped out into the chilly night air. The jock turned to Adhmar, "
COME ON! LET'S GO BRO!!! LET'S GO!" He had ripped his shirt off and was banging on his chest like some wild animal. Saying to no one in particular Adhmar walked down the stairs that led to the street saying, "You have GOT to be kidding me."

The boy charged Adhmar and thinking quick on his feet the Brazilian dodged his charge...barely. He turned around to be met with a fist to his face and he stumbled back. He let out a low groan. Not willing to take many more hits to the face Adhmar decided to fight back. A fist came towards him and Adhmar dropped to the ground and kicked his leg out and spun around quickly causing the boy to fall backwards. Adhmar flipped up and created a current of wind around him. His foot landed in the boys stomach and he sent him flying down the empty street. Thunder cracked in the night sky. A few streaks of lightning illuminated the sky. Adhmar rose into the night air. Static could be felt running through the air. The distinct smell of ozone filled the air. The air was charged and it was looking for an outlet and Adhmar had locked his eyes on his target. He was ready to take the boy out...In the distance the sound of a car could be heard approaching...

A block away from the location he'd got from Adhmar's phone, Forge began to hear samba music. Yup, he had definitely come to the right place. At least this was one of the better parts of Brooklyn; there wouldn't be too much danger if Adhmar had decided to go wandering around in some alleyway. The worst he'd encounter was hipsters. He began looking for a spot to park, but the sides of the streets were both packed full. Forge grumbled to himself. This was exactly why he hated Brooklyn, although Manhattan was still worse. He slowed, hoping to find a parking lot somewhere. It honestly would have been easier to take the Blackbird and deal with having to find a roof with enough structural integrity to hold it.

The search was cut short, however, as a few bolts of lightning lit up the neighborhood. The sky had been clear fifteen minutes ago, and it didn't take much work to figure out what had happened. Adhmar.. Why the hell was he using his powers? Forge muttered a few choice words, pulled over, and got out. It wasn't a parking spot but he really didn't care at this point. Adhmar was either in trouble, or was about to be. Forge's hand rested on his communicator as he jogged towards the building. He had a feeling that he might need it very soon. Adhmar's truancy wasn't exactly unexpected, but Forge doubted that the boy would use his powers without good reason.

A figure flew backwards across the street in front of him, slamming full-force into a lamppost. Damn. Definitely mutant involvement. At least it hadn't been Adhmar getting his ass kicked. Forge glanced around as the teenager stumbled to his feet, and finally caught sight of the boy he was looking for. He was floating several stories up, making a wonderful spectacle of himself. Forge growled under his breath. Maybe he should have let Summers deal with this, after all. Striding forward to stand between the two teenagers, Forge glared up at Adhmar.

“Adhmar, there better be a damn—“ he shouted, cutting off as he saw the other boy swinging for him out of the corner of his eye. Forge ducked easily, turning to look at him, and landed an uppercut on the boy with his right fist. There was a distinct thunk as the cybernetic limb hit his jaw, and the boy dropped again. Idiot would probably need stitches, but at least it looked like his jaw wasn't broken. Forge turned back to Adhmar, glaring. “Get down. Now.”

Adhmar looked down to see Forge there. He was so caught up in this fight he didn't really pay to much attention to his surroundings. As he lowered himself to the ground he still felt the static built up inside of him. He allowed the electricity to escape his body as the street was lit momentarily by the bright blinding light of the lightning as Adhmar releases it. The jock was headed towards him but decided against as he saw what he thought was the extent of Adhmar's powers. He ran over quickly to his friend and picked him up off of the ground and carried him to what he felt was a safe spot. Adhmar landed completely on the ground and looked to the boys who were running away. He couldn't believe them. They were complete jerks. As he cleared his mind he heard Forge's distinctive voice. He rolled his eyes while sighing as he turned around.

He knew he was about to get a lecture.He held up his hands in surrender, "I am down MOM...no need to blow a circuit board or anything..." Adhmar turned around to face Forge. He barely could look the man in the face. He didn't want to hear what he was about to say. There had to be a lecture coming his way and he really didn't want to hear it. He just wanted to go back and try having a a good time at the rest of the party. If all people should understand Forge would right? He wouldn't drag him back to the school against his will. He would let him go back and have fun and pretend like nothing happened.

Taking the momentary silence Adhmar turned and headed back towards his cousins home. He moved quickly because he didn't want to be caught in Forges clutches. He ran up the stairs quickly and opened the door allowing the music to flood the streets a few moments before he closed it and locked it back. He didn't want Forge crashing through the door or anything. The young teen ran up the stairs to the large crowd to try and blend in with everyone else. The crowd roared with joy as a popular song came over the speakers. Adhmar joined the crowd in dancing while silently praying that Forge would just decide to go home and leave him alone. Hey miracles could happen right?

There was a flash of lightning as Adhmar released his control over the storm, and Forge watched the boy intently as he began to lower himself to the street. Smart. It seemed the stunt had freaked out a few of the other teens, but Forge mostly ignored them as they ran away. There would probably be some small news piece tomorrow about a mutant menace in Brooklyn. Just what they needed. Forge's glare only deepened at Adhmar's comment, but he didn't say anything yet. The remark might have been fitting, but there was still no way he was getting away with it. Something else to include in his lecture. That could wait until they were in Forge's car, and the boy had no chance of escaping the talk...as it seemed he was intent to do now.

Forge watched, slightly stunned, as the boy calmly walked back into the house. Did Adhmar seriously think he was going to just walk back into the party? Forge was obviously been giving his intelligence far too much credit. Yeah, that wasn't going to fly. Forge scowled as he followed the boy across the street, trying to come up with a suitable punishment. Handing him over to Scott or Emma was becoming more and more tempting. As much as Forge didn't want to make this into a spectacle, the headmasters were far better at handing out punishment.

Adhmar had locked the door. That little bitch. For a second, Forge was tempted to kick it in, just to end this party. But no. Adhmar's stunt had caused enough of a scene, and he didn't want to deal with the aftermath. Instead, he rang the doorbell. The door opened after a minute, and a hispanic teenager peered out. The door began to shut again—far more quickly than it had opened—but Forge shoved it in. The boy resisted for only a few seconds before relenting, and Forge stalked into the hallway. At least one partygoer here was smarter than Adhmar.

Forge made his way up the stairs slowly, content in knowing that he blocked the only way out of the building. There had been a fire escape on the side, sure, but it was in horrible repair. If Adhmar tried it, he'd just end up with a nasty fall. Unless he just used his powers, of course. Forge really hated fliers sometimes. He doubted that would happen; the boy wanted to keep partying, obviously, and if he was kicked out, he'd probably head back to the Institute of his own accord. Opening the door to the party, Forge found the room packed, and Admar nowhere in sight. Damn. He'd have to actually search. He began to shove his way through the crowd, scanning it for his errant student. At least no one here was offering any resistance...yet.

Adhmar heared Forge before he could see Forge Adhmar moved quickly. His constant training in capoeira helped him be quick on his feat. His training in various forms of martial arts on helped him even more. He moved through the mass of people before Forge could get to him. He was hoping to make it back downstairs and out of the front door before the man caught up with him. The darkness of the house helped him keep his cover. The teen pushed people out of his way causing drinks to spill all about the floor as he ran. He didn't want to be caught by Forge inside. He was sure outside was the better solution.

Running down the stairs he saw the door right in front of him. He quickly snatched it open and ran outside. HE laughed feeling a bit of victory. He had dodged Forge TWICE. He would have to tell the gang all about this when he got back to the school. The thing that bothered him was that Forge was acting as if he was the ONLY one who was sneaking out. There had to be at least three other people out of the school as well. How was he so unlucky to get caught? He HAD to find someone who could become invisible and become their friend...FAST.

Adhmar decided to put on a complete show for Forge. He sat down on the stairs that created the stoop. He placed his arms on his knees and rested his chin in his hand. He wanted to make sure to look as innocent as possible. He was going to make it seem as if he had been outside waiting on Forge for the longest. He knew he would be getting into trouble he would have a bit of fun at least. He was not going to be getting a lecture and he hadn't done anything. Sorry Forge...not sorry, Adhmar thought to himself. He was tired of always having to toe the line. He felt the students needed a bit more freedom.

Forge's gaze swept through the party, scanning the crowd for Adhmar. Nothing. Either he was far too tired to deal with this, or Adhmar had found a hiding spot. He wasn't sure which was more likely. As seconds ticked by, he became increasingly sure that this was a futile task. Where was the boy hiding? Why couldn't he have been smart enough to accept that he'd been caught, and go back to the institute? Once again Forge glanced down to the communicator on his belt, tempted to pick it up. Considering her powers, Frosty would make this situation much easier for him. Less so for Adhmar, but that concern was swiftly diminishing. At this point, the boy had it coming.

It was then that Forge noticed that the party had gone silent around him. Instead of being forced to shove his way through people, they had backed up to form a circle around him, staring. Great. There was little Forge could do to not stand out; he was larger than most of the kids here, significantly older, and—most obviously—had a cybernetic arm. He was an outsider here, and no one seemed happy to see him. Dammit. At least he was intimidating enough to keep them from trying anything. He hoped. Forge held up his hands, palms open, in a gesture of peace. Privately, he wondered how much nerve agent he had stored in the aerosol dispenser in his right arm. It had been a while since he refilled it, but he hadn't gotten the chance to use it recently. It was probably full. With any luck, he wouldn't need to find out. “Relax. I'm just here looking for someone. Adhmar de Souza? Once I find him, I'll leave,” he told the crowd, trying to placate them. The last thing Forge wanted was for this to get messy.

A boy that Forge didn't recognize stepped forward. He was a little older than Adhmar—maybe late teens or early twenties. “Yeah? What's he to you?”

Forge paused for a second, thinking. The kid seemed defensive of Adhmar; saying that the boy was in trouble probably wouldn't work. Explaining that he'd broken curfew would probably just get him laughed out. Wait! Adhmar had already given him the answer earlier. “He seems to think I'm his mommy. Just going to make sure he gets home safely.” It was true. Mostly.

Marcos AD's older cousin heard all of the commotion going on. He walked over to where Forge stood talking to Julian a family friend and said, "Juju....O que se passa aqui? Porque todo o barulho? É uma festa!!!" He turned and noticed Forge. He looked questioningly once he heard him asking about Adhmar. Because of their closeness Marcos knew exactly who Forge was. He knew he was from the school and probably was in search of his cousin. He smiled being care free as usual and said in his horribly broken English, "He no is not in herrrre He go leave already! Youah understand me? Come stay party!" With that Marcos who was noticeably drunk threw his arm around Forge's arm and offered him one of the three freezing cold Red Stripe beers that were in his hand and swayed his hips a bit to the rhythm of the music as he tried to leave Forge to come and join himself and the beautiful women on the dance floor.

The onlookers laughed knowing Marcos' playful nature. He would do just about anything to make anyone he deemed uptight loosen up. He knew Forge shouldn't have any problems bagging a chick in the party. He was a pretty handsome guy. AD's drunk beyond comprehension cousin danced a samba around Forge bringing attention to the man and himself. Some of the more unruly girls giggled and joined in grinding themselves against Forge while laughing and playing around with Marcos. Marcos' wife walked into the circle and pulled her husband away apologizing to Forge as she did so. He could become a bit much at times when drunk. Perhaps that is why he didn't allow himself to drink too often?

Adhmar had sat outside for at least fifteen minutes before wondering where in the HECK Forge was. He figured the older mutant would have come outside by now. That was strange Adhmar thought to himself. He stood to his feet and brushed off his pants and walked back up the stairs and opened the door. He climbed to the second floor through all of the people once again and found himself watching the entire scene play out. He raised an eyebrow questioningly. Forge had basically told him to leave the party and he himself was here partying? Well that was at least what it appeared to be to the teen. He made his way through the crowd and stood looking at Forge for a moment and said, "Wow Forge...what a way to follow your own rules..." The young mutant turned on his heels quickly and stormed off pushing anyone that was in his way rudely to the side as he headed downstairs and out the front door once more to sulk in his bitterness that he had been caught out of bed...

Finally, Forge got something resembling a useful reply. Adhmar had already left? That seemed unlikely, considering Forge hadn’t seen him slip out, but maybe he’d hopped out a window. Dammit. “Thanks,” he replied, declining the offer of a drink, “But I need to go track him down. “ That should be fun. Before, at least, Forge knew where Adhmar had been partying. If the man was to be believed, Adhmar could now be anywhere nearby. At least Forge was certain the boy hadn’t brought his car. That would have made things far worse.

Forge turned back to the door, only to be blocked by the same man, dancing around him. What the—? Carefully, Forge tried to edge his way by, but found himself being cornered by a few girls. Really? This was happening? As tempting as it was to just shove them out of the way and continue, he didn’t need to start a fight. Instead, he remained still, glowering at them, and requested that they leave. No response. Great, this was just the sort of disturbance he needed. What were the odds Adhmar had put them up to it?

As if on cue, the front door opened up again, and Adhmar reappeared. Oh. Well. This was awkward. No longer caring about politeness, Forge carefully pushed his way through the girls and wove his way through the crowd. “Adhmar, wait!” he shouted, but only received a slamming door in reply. Dammit. This was not how fetching Adhmar was supposed to go. Managing to make his way to the door, Forge followed the boy out into the street. He stopped a good distance away, giving Adhmar room to keep walking if he so desired.

“Adhmar?” Forge asked, more quietly now. He let out a frustrated huff of air. “That wasn’t at all what it looked like. I’m sor—“ Forge caught himself. Why, exactly, was he apologizing? Sure, the boy was upset, but Forge wasn’t exactly the one breaking curfew here. If Adhmar hadn’t been involved, he could have damn well spent his entire night partying, guilt-free. Not that he ever would, but that was an entirely different matter. Forge wasn’t the one in trouble here, and he wasn’t going to let Adhmar guilt-trip him. He had to give the boy props for trying, though. “Actually, no. I’m not sorry. Come on. We’re going back to the Institute.”

The door to the brownstone opened and out walked Forge. Adhmar looked up to him and rolled his eyes to himself. He really didn't want to hear anything the older male came outside. He tried explaining himself about what took place inside of his cousins home. Adhmar could really careless what he was saying because he was convinced by what he saw.Forge was definitely enjoying himself as the girls were all over him. Could Adhmar blame him? NO...he would have been enjoying himself as well if Forge hadn't come and spoiled the party for him. Why did Forge come either way? He could have very well ignored the fact that Adhmar has went out past curfew. He wasn't going to hurt anyone he was just trying to have a good time. Did Forge not feel that coming all the way over to Brooklyn was more work than it was worth?

Forge caught himself when he was about to apologize to the mutant teen. Instead he went in a totally different direction. He told Adhmar he wasn't sorry and told the teen to come on because they were heading back to the institute. Adhmar stood and stuffed his hands into his pockets and said, "Whartever...I don't care...you've already ruined the night.We might as well head back..I hope your happy party ruiner."Adhmar's sometimes English challenged vocabulary was showing itself. He was really bothered by being caught by Forge. He had planned so hard to attend this party. It was to be a night of pure fun and bliss and it turned to everything but. First the fight..now THIS...The teen was certain that Emma had something to do with Forge constantly looking at the cameras. Who does that?!?!? Adhmar was after all 17 years old. He wasn't a child and they should realize that.

Adhmar was obviously upset, but Forge didn’t much care at the moment. He’d deal with the emotional backlash from this later; for now, he needed to just get the boy home. He doubted Adhmar realized the type of trouble he’d just caused. Using his powers in public—in a very visible way—would bring them all sorts of trouble. Even if the neighborhood itself was somewhat mutant-friendly, there were still a few of the new Sentinels patrolling it. Using powers in a fight would definitely be enough to draw them in. Hell, it was amazing they weren’t already here, considering the idiot boy had decided to use lightning.

To his surprise, Adhmar seemed willing to come with him now. His mood had changed from angry to apathetic, and the most he managed to retaliate with was a few poor insults. Yup, that was Forge. Chick magnet and slayer of parties. He let Adhmar insult him without retaliating, letting the boy get it out of his system. At least the boy wasn’t causing more of a scene; as it was, his power use had probably attracted some unwanted attention. They could talk about this after they were safely away from the scene. Instead of replying, he simply headed for his car, keeping an eye on the boy in case he decided to bolt. Forge didn’t think it was likely, considering Adhmar would probably have to face worse if he went back into the party, but there was no justifying Teenage Logic.

Forge opened up the passenger side door before going around to the driver side, himself. He really hoped that Adhmar would play nice; right now, Forge wanted nothing more than to get home and go back to sleep. If the boy tried to leave again, he’d wake up Emma, and no one wanted that.

The annoyed teen felt Forge's eyes on him. He let out a deep sigh and a slight growl. He cut his eyes to Forge quickly before saying, "You don't have to keep looking at me...I'm not going anywhere...." He sulked even more as they walked back to the car. He didn't understand what the big deal was. Forge showed up at the wrong time if you asked him. No one told him to come and be Mr. Do Right. He was a teacher yes, and it was apart of their responsibilities to keep the students safe but Adhmar WAS safe! He was around family. It was no one there, except the jerk and his loser friends, who tried anything. Adhmar was well aware of the rules in using his powers. He was not going to be beat up by some wild animal who started the spectacle. His powers would have simply ended it all.

Then Forge shows up and wants to cause MORE of a scene. Adhmar knew that his family and friends, although drunk, wouldn't let him live this down. They tend to remember embarrassing things that happen to one another even if they are drunk or sober. Adhmar got caught sneaking off from the school. Of allllllll the students who normally sneak off far more than he, he actually gets caught and Forge is trying to be all serious about it. He could have just sat in his car and waited for Adhmar to come out. Knowing tomorrow was a short class day AND a training day for himself Adhmar wouldn't have been at the party all night like he normally would be. He had to be back at the school before sunrise. He didn't want to raise any suspicions. He really should have told Zafir to watch his back that night.

The pair walked in awkward silence. Adhmar didn't want to say anything and Forge was probably forming a million things to say on that long ride back to the school...Looking up to the sky for a moment Adhmar rolled his eyes and said to himself, **Oh God I hope he doesn't talk on that entire ride home....Or worst...turn me over to Emma...of all people not her...or Cyclops...God he hated them both.** It was Cyclops constant rules and structure he hated...not him as a person...He didn't like being in Emma's presence at all though. He would do whatever he could to stay from around her. They reached the car Forge had driven and Forge came around and opened Adhmar's door. He couldn't help but smirk at the gesture. He couldn't resist the urge to say, "Always the gentleman...you opened my door for me." The comment was full of the typical teen sarcasm. Why was Adhmar acting like this? He normally got along so well with Forge...perhaps it was his hurt feelings talking for him because he was mad he was leaving the party.
