Appearance:
Storm is taller than an average woman standing at 5’ 11”. She doesn’t weigh a whole lot so that coupled with her tallness makes her look extremely skinny. But, don’t mistake her skinniness for weakness. She is well muscled and has a strong physique. Her white hair stretches to her shoulder blades and can be quite wild, especially when she uses her powers and it isn’t bound. Her skin, as opposed to her white hair, is rather dark due to her heritage through her mother. Her hands are callused from years of hand-to-hand combat.
When she isn’t in her uniform, Storm can usually be found wearing simple clothing. During the summer, fall, and spring she is usually found wearing jeans and a v-neck t-shirt. During the winter she wears turtle neck shirts and sweaters. For special occasions she wears black dress pants and a “dressy” shirt. She prefers these things to dresses and skirts because of the freer movement and better skin protection if she were to get into a fight.

Powers:
Psionic Weather Manipulation – This allows her to manipulate weather patterns over a limited area. She is also able to create any form of precipitation (i.e. fog, rain, etc.) and control wind velocity and intensity up to hurricane force. This ability also allows her to raise or lower temperature and humidity near her body and create lightning or other electrical weather happenings. Along with creating storms, she can also get rid of or control natural storms. Some atmospheric occurrences Storm can direct with her hands and arms.
Flight – With her powers over wind and atmosphere Storm can fly. She does this by creating winds that support her weight. She can fly as fast as any wind by controlling the air pressure around her and allowing her to breath at any velocity, protect herself from air friction, and gives her limited immunity to heat and cold. She can also have others fly with her by altering the winds and pressure to allow them to breath at different speeds.
Alternate Vision – She can manipulate her vision to see electrical energy patterns. She can also see patterns responsible for meteorological changes in weather. This can happen only in her immediate environment.
Weaknesses:
One major weakness of Storm’s powers is, if she doesn’t keep her emotions in check they can control her powers and change a large range of weather in the area and it can sometimes be destructive. Her powers do not allow her to create anything that is not found in nature. The area Storm is able to manipulate the weather is based on a certain proximity to herself. Along with that, the proximity that she can control is based on how strong her will and body are. Her powers are also limited by her body and will. In the event of a savage storm or natural disaster, it can take several hours for Storm to control it, if she even can, and by doing this it leaves her exhausted, almost to the point of death. Because of an accident when she was a child, Storm is severely claustrophobic and it debilitates her ability to function.
Getting to the Root of the Problem
Personality:
This woman is strong and independent. She has had to be from the early age of five when her parents died. This is also when she developed a severe case of claustrophobia. Her strong will allows her to be a good leader. Storm leads with a firm but understanding mind and outlook. She tries to make decisions with everyone, or as many as possible, in mind and she doesn’t make hard decisions lightly.
Outwardly, Storm can seem really quiet and emotionless. The truth is she is like that to make sure her emotions don’t control her powers and create dangerous storms. Inside she definitely has emotions. Sometimes she is able to let them show. Storm can be temperamental on occasion but can usually control herself. One of her deepest wishes is to be able to show strong emotion without causing damage from a massive storm. Storm inwardly longs for someone to share her true emotions with freely and longs for a time in which she can show strong emotion without any physical consequences. Even though she longs for these things, she rarely admits it, even to herself.

Background:
Ororo Munroe was born to an African priestess, N’Dare, and an America photojournalist, David Munroe. She was born in Manhattan, New York, USA. The small family moved to Cairo, Egypt when the baby was just 6 months old. Five years later a plane crashed into their home, burying all three and killing her parents. Ororo survived with severe claustrophobia.
Escaping with only her ruined clothes and her mother’s ancestral ruby, Ororo was found by Achmed el-Gibar. Achmed taught her to pick pockets and locks. She became an expert in these subjects and attempted to rob Charles Xavier. He stopped her but was attacked, allowing the young thief to escape. Later, she wandered south of Cairo and nearly died in the Sahara. Her mutant ability appeared not long after that. Because of her ability, she saved T’Challa, a prince of Wakanda. She then found her mother’s homeland and was taught to use her powers responsibly and she then began to be worshipped as a goddess by the local tribes.
Soon after, she was contacted by Xavier and the X-men and had the true nature of her powers explained to her. Out of curiosity, she joined and took the codename of Storm. Being naïve, Storm was taught the ways of the modern world by one of her teammates: jean Grey. She eventually became the leader of the X-men team when Cyclops left after Jean’s supposed death. Storm was hesitant with her role as team leader but soon became a confidant and capable leader. When Cyclops returned she doubted herself briefly before asserting her position as leader.
Storm battled and defeated many enemies throughout the years and nearly died many separate times but saved many races and people. At one point in time she lost her abilities due to a mutant made gun that neutralized her powers. Storm quit the X-men, went back to Africa, and came to terms with losing her mutant powers. Later, she joined Xavier’s team of young mutants. Storm got her powers back from the trickster god Loki when he tried to use her to get rid of his brother, Thor. She was brainwashed but her fellow X-men helped her fight off Loki and reject his gifts of power.
She then went to challenge for dual-leadership of the X-men. She won even without her powers and Cyclops left again. Storm eventually regained her powers when she was sent to an alternate universe and the mutant who built the gun to take away her powers built a new machine to restore her mutant powers.
Since regaining her powers, Storm has fought off many different threats and, with the help of her team and friends defeated each of the foes. The weather controller now spends most of her time teaching the younger mutants who come to Xavier’s Institute how to properly wield their powers and how to control them. She also helps them understand what it means to be a mutant. Storm enjoys teaching and only helps with the extreme X-men missions.

To Meet Expectations
RP sample:
A tall figure stood in a rapidly darkening window. The woman had white hair that seemed to swirl around her. Then her hair started whipping around her in a torrent of wind. The weather had quickly descended into something destructive. It took a moment for the woman to realize what was going on.
“Storm, get ahold of yourself. Your letting your emotions get the better of you.” She told herself, shaking her body to try and relax. It was difficult. Because Storm had such strong control over her emotions and powers, when they went wild, it was sometimes hard to bring them back under control.
A sigh escaped from the X-men’s full lips. If she were lucky, no one would notice the sudden change of weather, since it had been so quick. But, she was leaning towards the idea that everyone had noticed. They tended to do that since this was a school for mutants like herself. But her mind was far away from school, teaching, and students. Her mind was back in her mother’s ancestral home. She missed it there and a single tear ran down her cheek.
The strong woman was jolted from her thoughts by a loud rap at the door. A concerned voiced asked if everything was alright, obviously referring to the weather change and its connection to the co-leader of the X-men. Taking a deep breath, Storm wiped off her cheek, plastered a smile on her face, and strode to the door to open it.
”Yes, everything is just fine. Off to class now. It’s about to start.” Storm said with a cheery voice, ushering off the young student and shutting the door to her room. And so the charade began again.
