Appearance:
Some might see Jack as being quite sexy, but almost all who speak to him even once realize that his looks hold no candle to the rest of him. He is all business, and his outfit compliments this fact well. His hair is combed not for style, but purpose, kept short to prevent it from getting in the way of things. His face holds a determined look, a look of purpose. Never does he need to smile, only present himself for business transactions, and occasionally fire his way out of a job gone wrong. His clothes flaunt style when working a high profile business, but otherwise he dresses inconspicuously, keeping as low a profile as he can. Perhaps the only thing conspicuous about his might be the metal augments grafted into the side of his face, from which a set of glasses emerge at will to help in controlling his power for tracking and informational gathering.
*Uniform:
Typically, Seeker's outfit is less superhero spandex and more SHIELD Issue with some modifications. He wears a pretty Badass Longcoat that even Nick Fury gets jealous of, reaching down to just above his knees in length. His undershirt is a flak-jacket meant for protection against what his body might not be able to protect against. His pants are black cargo pants, with straps on them to keep his gun holstered or carry supplies when he is in the field, and his boots are standard issue combat boots. In reality, the only hing non-standard about his uniform is the grafted on glasses that double as cool shades but function primarily as a means for him to focus his power usage.
Power Corrupts Absolutely
Power Origin: Mutant & Modification
Powers:
Scrying - Jack posses a form of mental scrying, being able to find anyone or anything he wishes, knowing the exact location of the item or person. The function of this powers is much akin to Cerebro, but on a smaller scale, limited to one or two individuals in close proximity to one another. He need only a name, photograph, or decent description of the person or item and he can find their location and see where they are within his mind. Once a mental lock has been established on a person, he is able to keep that mental lock and focus on them, seeing in a sort of mind‘s eye the location of the object or person in relation to himself, as well as glimpses of nearby landmarks or identifiers. If it is a person being tracked, Jack can find them if he has a lock on their mental signature, even if they travel constantly, so long as their brain is alive and functions. If it is an item, then Jack can remain focused on the place so long as the item is not moved far and isn’t damaged or broken. The addition of training and manipulation via the Tank program has allowed Jack to expand his range that can encompass much of the Lower 48 US states in size, access medical information, such as being wounded or near death the closer one gets, and mild emotional gleams and surface thoughts.
Mental Prison - Jack’s natural mental ability grants him some immunity to Psionic influence and probing, but the years of training with Weapon X, while leaving him with some mental scarring, did leave him with one extra ability. His mind, once simply able to allow him notice of another’s presence within, now has the ability to trap any individual who attempts to put themselves within his mind. Once the person attempts to get in or read anything of his mind, Jack closes off the ability for them to leave, Locking them within a specialized Mental prison of his own make, one that could make anyone crack from pressure of the images they see. However, stronger telepaths, such as Xaiver, Jean, or Emma, have no issue preventing themselves from being locked inside the mental prison, instead causing Jack to need to mentally recede within himself and fight the invading force from inside, making it a trap or Evict scenario.
Living Will - Jack lives and functions by sheer willpower, a feat granted to him by the chemicals that flow through his body granting him an extremely high tolerance to Pain. His body creates and pumps an excess amount of Adrenaline when in a situation warranting it, allowing him to function on the adrenaline high and ignore the pain or damage he suffers. To add to it, Jack has a minor system Redundancy. While he does not possess duplicate organs, he does have a redundant nervous system and thicker, tougher muscular walls on his major organs to prevent damage. Where most people, if shot in the heart, would cease functioning, Jack would continue to function so long as his adrenaline kept flowing, allowing him to function on the adrenaline high indefinitely until his Healing Factor kicked in. In this way, Jack’s body functions as a combination of a high pain tolerance, tougher skin, Healing Factor, and adaptability, as Jack’s body is able to function without major organs for a short time, including shutting down the need for blood if his body would bleed to death.
Weaknesses:
Jack is not immortal. His living will is what allows him to function and continue where other men should have dropped, but he cannot regrow entire limbs if they are lost, and he cannot regrow his brain. If someone can destroy his brain, then Jack can and will cease to exist. Destroying his entire body will allow this as well, as limbs can only function if they still have some sort of joint. Keeping him out longer than his very slow Healing factor can function will also kill him, especially if one can keep him bleeding out for longer than his body can sustain without blood-need.
Psychologically, Jack’s Weaknesses lie in his memories. Were a powerful enough Telepath to break free of Jack’s Mental prison and discover the memories kept within his hallowed halls, they would bring to light all the memories Jack left repressed, everything from his early childhood up to the death of his own family. These memories get released as a flood, and can incapacitate him for months because of the horrid visions that flow to the forefront of his mind. They are not true memories, but horrid nightmares, twisted after years of being locked away.
Jack also doesn’t treat anyone as friends. Indeed, if asked who his friends are, Jack will say he has none. If asked who he spends his free time with for fun, he will say no one, as he does not see the point in fun anymore and has long since gotten past it. To him, everyone is either a business partner, client, or Enemy.
Jack, while not showing it, lives in constant fear of his father, who very likely still lives to this day outside somewhere beyond his control. Even with amplifications from the Tank program modifications, Jack’s father is still outside his mental scrying reach.
Jack is quick to anger, and when provoked won’t hesitate to end your life. He may not immediately kill you, but you will become part of his hit list, and will begin the plot to end you, either by his own means or a hired assassin means.
Jack suffers from addictions to various drugs, having taken them for various means. He suffers from the addictions of Tobacco and cigarettes, liquor and alcohol, Heroin, and various other illegal drugs. While all his addictions are mild thanks to some lingering effects of his poor healing factor, the worst addiction is possibly his mild addiction to MGH, or Mutant Growth Hormone, which he hopes one day will lead him to his father through amplified powers beyond his own limits.
Getting to the Root of the Problem
Personality:
Jack does not kid, fool around, or toy. Everything with Jack is pure and straight up business. Even what most would associate as fun times, Jack treats as a business transaction, one that simply instead provokes a response from him that would be pleasing. This does not make him happy, but instead satisfies needs, such as needing to cut hair, buy clothing, or once in a while get laid at a Strip Club. None of these are little more than business ventures resulting in the transaction of one commodity, money, for another. This does not mean he is immune to emotions, he just does not show happiness and joy. Anger and annoyance can be clear.
Jack does not let anyone get close to him. 26 years of his life have purposefully disappeared through close knit means and specialized contacts, leaving him an enigma. For this reason he does not consider anyone to be friends, only business partners. He treats his Business partners and business clients with respect, making sure all transactions go through with utmost scrutiny. Everything the client wants, the client gets. However, sometimes Jack has made small exceptions if a client wishes to find a business partner of Jack, usually alerting said partner once the transaction has finished. So they may prepare themselves.
Jack is not opposed to the consumption of drugs. He has many times before in the past three years tried every drug most can get on and off the market. Some of the stronger ones he has vowed not to try again, such as cocaine and speed, but he will freely down alcohol, smoke cigarettes or marijuana, and even use prescriptions to get high. Most of these he uses to push back the memories of his past even more, but one drug, MGH, he keeps and uses for a special reason. When he lacks the ability to have a doctor patch him up, he injects himself with a small amount of MGH. The drug enhances his powers enough in this small dosage so that his natural healing factor becomes enhanced beyond natural means, allowing his body to temporarily reseal itself. He does not use the drug often, as the tank chip has currently amplified his rate of healing enough to naturally do this, but still takes it due to a mild addiction
Family:
- Johnathon Michaelangelo Rodolph - Father (AT LARGE)
- Cynthia Margerie Rodolph - Mother (Deceased)
- Janet Uriel Rodolph - Elder Sister (Deceased)
- Benjamin Raphael Rodolph - Twin Brother (Unknown)
Background:
26 years of of Jack’s life has been erased from all history and replaced with falsified information. Due to how well the information has been forged, when most hear the name Jack Rodolph, they assume that it is the child who was killed at the age of six by his father in a psychopathic rage. However, that is false, and the true history follows. At present, only three people in the world even know the true history, two of which Jack keeps close tabs on.
Jackson Gabriel Rodolph was born to Johnathon Michelangelo Rodolph and Cynthia Margerie Rodolph on October 13th, one minute after the birth of Jack’s twin brother Benjamin Raphael Rodolph. Life for Jack and his two Siblings, his twin Ben and his Elder sister Janet Uriel Rodolph would have been great, many assume, as their father John once was Interpol’s most famous American detectives, known for his expert detective abilities and almost supernatural ability to find missing people and criminals after only visiting a crime scene once. Add in that Cynthia, their mother, was a retired lounge singer for high name clients, and the Rodolph line was a family known to be steeped in old money acquired from the railroad monopoly, and everything would be assumed to be a glorious childhood for little Jack.
But Jack was not born like normal children. Jack and his two siblings were second generation mutants, their father being a mutant who had never realized that his powers were what allowed him the ability to find people. Jack, possessing this ability soon after birth, was seen by his father as simply a prodigy like himself, and believed Jack would one day follow closely in his footsteps. His ability to find objects and people, like his father, was supernatural to most, and it brought the family into the viewpoints of Weapon X, who had already been keeping an eye on the family since John’s skills surfaced. However, due to the high profile of the family, Weapon X kept it as only observations, waiting for a moment to convince the family to work for them, as taking anyone would surely backfire with John’s ability.
For the first six years of Jack’s life, everything was good. His powers caused no problems, and he grew to become quite fond of musical instruments, showing a deep interest that might one day grow into more. His older sister acted as a mentor, not having to deal much with him being an annoying little brother and instead a little helper, especially when things went missing. Sadly, his twin brother did not fair as well, and since they had been three years old had been in and out of the hospital with a weak immune system, to the point where a common cold nearly caused him to die. This affected Jack greatly, leading some Weapon X supervisors later believing him to possibly have a psychic connection with his twin, but no confirmation on this hypothesis would ever come about. Each day Jack could, he would persuade his mother, father, or sister to visit his twin in the hospital, leaving him presents of cards and toys to play with. He cared for his brother more than anyone in the world, wishing him well, and any time Benjamin was able to return to the Rodolph manor, Jack became the happiest any boy could be.
But all this began to change one January 5th. A Christmas murder had occurred, and Jack’s father, Johnathon, was tasked with locating the criminal, as it was believed it might be linked to an Interpol case of a similar incident five years back in Prague. Jack had been asleep the night John returned home, only awakening to use the bathroom once, which was when he heard the yelling. His sister was on the phone, talking to a friend, but concerned with all the yelling coming from their parents room. Benjamin was located in the Local General Hospital, having been put in from a nasty infection, leaving him immune to the events that would transpire. Concerned, Janet sent Jack to their parent’s bedroom so as to see what was going on. As Jack reached the hall, gunshots were heard, prompting Jack to run faster to the bedroom. At the age of 6, he believed the house might have had a burgler who had attacked his parents, and wanted to make sure they were okay.
The sight Jack perceived when he peeked through the opened door was one that stuck with him forever, beginning his descent into a madness. In the dim light of the bedroom, Jack saw a dead naked man laying on the floor, riddled with bullet wounds. His father’s sidearm was thrown on the floor, and his father was currently on the master bed, continually thrusting a knife into the chest of the dead and naked form of his mother, Cynthia.
What transpired further was a race for Jack's life, involving the emergence of his sister Janet's powers, and her eventually death at the hands of their father. Later, police and psychological examiners would determine Jack's father to have been mentally unstable, possibly with schizophrenia or autism on a lower scale. Weapon X would later theorize that Schizophrenia was the closer, developing alongside Johnathon's own power that might have been making him hear literal voices in his head and no ability to distinguish truth from fiction anymore. Eventually, Jack was lead against an open fireplace where he received burn scaring along his back before a member of Weapon X stepped in and killed John by shooting him, rescuing the young boy and telling him his safety would be ensured.
However, Jack’s safety could not be further from the truth. The woman and the men in uniforms were members of Weapon X, having intercept a call from Janet the moment gunshots were heard and arrived on scene to save the family as soon as possible, and if not save the family, use their DNA for study. By finding Jack alive in time, Weapon X had a new possible mutant weapon in their hands. While lacking in competitive powers, Jack’s fragile mind proved excellent for influence and programming, and his powers would prove useful for finding other possible mutants they could use, as well as taking out their hidden threats.
As Jack went through the Weapon X training, he quickly learned just how to be a weapon and nothing more. Everything to him was either a target or not, and he excelled in the use of conventional weaponry. The discovery of his two latent powers proved even more helpful, allowing him to be able to assault from the front lines and take on Telepaths for a specialized form of Interrogation. The names of his trainers came and went, and none were retained, Jack remaining in a Broken trance until he was sixteen years old, when he slowly started regaining his personality, having shoved most of his memories into a locked box.
The discovery of Jack’s personality returning frightened Weapon X, fearing they might lose their best soldier. Figuring it might be best to return him into the empty shell he was, Weapon X prepared a special chamber for Jack, bringing him into a dark room, very similar to the room he used to trap telepaths within. Once he was locked inside, a light in front of Jack lit up, showing a strung up form of John, still wearing the ripped slacks from the night of January 5th and very much alive, if bound and gagged. John was there, before him, and the memories came flooding back, memories Jack had hid in the back of his mind for ten years. John, upon seeing his teenaged son, began flailing, trying to free himself from the restraints. Jack fell backwards, catching himself and scurrying backwards in an attempt to get as far from John as he could.
What transpired was the eventual emergence of twisted nightmarish memories of the night in question, followed by a mental black out after seeing a pale figure save him from the nightmares. Jack next awoke in the woods, bloody and torn up, and with no knowledge of how he escaped. Days he spent in the wilderness, eating animals and drinking from the river to survive. Eventually he found himself in civilization, coming out of the surge and not remembering a thing. He proceeded to the nearest orphanage, blending in and taking refuge with some of the older orphans, and telling people he didn’t know his name or who his parents were. Doctor’s tested him, but due to mental trauma, decided it was a case of forced Amnesia to cope, and nothing they did seemed to help, even hypnosis. He never found himself being adopted, even after remembering his first name of Jack and eventually taking small jobs at the age of 18 to supply himself With money. However, those two years were not easy.
Jack found the orphanage he was in to be corrupt, many of the orphans doubling as underage prostitutes for privileged clients. Jack, being fresh meat, was asked for by a lot of clients, finding himself often being raped by older men with no means to defend himself. Two years he suffered, putting him almost completely off sex. He was glad to find himself 18 and free, leaving the place with a clear impression of how he felt by calling the police and having them bust the establishment.
While orphanage life had been tough, there was one benefit. Jack met a fellow Orphan, his future wife, Valerie. They stuck to each other through the hard times, and found themselves loving one another. At the age of 21, both found themselves getting married in a small civil ceremony. Working hard, both eventually managed to find themselves with enough money and respectable blue collar jobs that allowed them to buy a small single floor house in the suburbs of Trenton, New Jersey. Jack, having taking on Valerie’s last name due to not wishing to use his own, began taking Night classes for police work, excelling and being hired by the local force as a beat cop.
It would be 4 years later, when Jack and Valerie were 25, when they finally both got over their fear of sexual encounters due to trauma enough to have their first child, a Daughter they named Theresa. For the first time in many years, Jack was happier than he could ever be. While he still did not remember much of his life, Jack cared little, instead happy to have the life of the present to look forward too. His powers were helpful in everything he did, and subtle enough that he could use them without being caught.
But not everything would go as well as Jack wished. One night, after returning from a beat, he found his front door slammed open and off it’s hinges. Repressed memories began to surface, and the fear and stress rose. Running into the house, he opened the front hall closest and grabbed the shotgun, readying himself to shoot down the invader into his home. What he found was not pleasant though. The Living room was in shambles, a fight having clearly taken place, and there was yelling from the Upstairs bedroom. The imaged flooded his mind, and he screamed for Valerie, running up and finding the door to their room through the bathroom blocked. Running around, he heard the sound of a gunshot just as he opened the door to the baby Theresa’s room.
Everything flooded back when he saw the overturned crib, the mobile still slowly tinkling. He traced the blankets, torn and thrown on the floor. Everything was ruined, but worst of all was the small form of Theresa, laying far too still on the floor. She was not crying, she was not moving, and there was a pool of blood around her body. Jack’s mind broke, the gears flying off the hinges as he saw the image before him, intermingling with repressed memories of the past. The blood, the blood. All the blood…
He gritted his teeth and slammed the door into the master bedroom open, finding no man, but instead the dead body of his wife, having been shot in the stomach. New horrors filled his mind, twisting with the nightmares of the past and throwing him into a stressed panic. He lost control, the pale figure returning once more to his mind and causing him to black out.
Jack awoke some time later in a New York subway, coming out of his comatose as a subway train appeared before him. To this day he still does not remember what happened, only that he had apparently disappeared for months on end. He remembered what he saw, throwing the images into the back of his mind and deciding for certain that his past needed erasing. He searched the seedier side of New York City, soon finding the person he needed, a young girl who was an expert at making sure people disappeared, either figuratively or literally. Dumping out the accounts in his banks and feeding her the required money, Jack soon was erased off the map, the old Jack Rodolph having been believed to have died with the rest of the Rodolph family. Using the money he left and some extra help from the girl, Jack soon found himself with a new name and Job, working as a small time information broker for anyone who needed it, alongside the girl who helped him erase most of his own information.
Years later, when the government was seeking individuals to help with the Tank program, Jack, who had previously been using small amounts of MGH to try and amplify his powers so he might find his father, immediately signed up after having been promised by the tank program he would find his father. The program did as they said, amplifying his powers and even giving him a small brain chipset augmentation that allowed him to utilize specialized glasses to help focus his powers, but still he could not find his father. Even hocked up on MGH, Jack was unable to seek out his own father. Many told him that it was possible his father was dead, but Jack knew better, and to this day seeks to find his father and end him, before his father can do the same to Jack.
No One Likes a Show-Off
Skills:
- While his powers allow him to find anyone with a name or image, Jack is able to use specialized detective skills to hunt down the name of image of someone if it is not given initially.
- Rudimentary Survival Skills due to years on the streets
- Basic First Aid Knowledge for patching himself up
- Slightly beyond basic Weapon Knowledge centered on pistols but with some in rifles.
Weapons:
- 9MM Glock with optional Silencer
Equipment:
- Malboro Cigerettes, always.
- Personal Blackberry PDA with Special coding and anti-tracking software
Anything else?: Jack has contacts within the Major New York Metropolis area that can get him various things, such as drugs or guns. Jack also is given special permission by the tank program so his powers are not naturally shut down but must be manually shut down from a remote source, since Jack works surveillance duty and 24/7 works to find potential recruits to the tank program. He does not, however, gain full access to his powers except for special government missions when tracking down a certain individual and working with them himself, otherwise he is only allowed the ability to scan nearby areas for people. Naturally, any information or potential recruits he locates are required in full report to the government by the end of the day.
