Appearance:
If hearing the name "Magneto" was not intimidating enough, then perhaps his appearance might help compliment that the man once known as Max Eisenhardt is a figure that is not to be messed with. While he is in his late forties, Magneto is figure of impressive height and build. Having the figure of a well-toned Olympic athlete, He can go toe to toe with most people of above average human strength and not be tired due to his age. Frailness and tired minds is nothing to this man. His silver-hair is not a sign of age but long wisdom from the events he has witnessed. What's more, he is never seen without his stand-out Helmet, its red and purple moniker helping to define his mage of himself as a leader of Mutant Kind.
*Uniform:
Magneto's Uniform, tailored for him by Cassandra Michaels long ago, still stands the test of time. Created to make a statement be heard, It is form fitting and features a deep crimson color as the main scheme for it. Highlights of deep royal purple can be seen as his cape, boots, gloves, and cape broach. The centerpiece might very well be his Helmet, a hard metal helmet of Red and Purple, meant as a means of blocking telepathic access to his mind. At times, tis helmet creates a perfect shadow over his face to make the man more intimidating.
Power Corrupts Absolutely
Power Origin: Mutant
Powers:
Proclaimed as the Master of Magnetism, Magneto’s mutation lies simply put in the powers of Magnetism and Magnetic Fields Manipulation. The control of Magnetism is not explicitly defined as either mental or physical, but what is known is that it is able to be controlled on a massive scale. For if anything contains an electromagnetic current, Magneto can manipulate it. If it is made of or derived from a Ferros metal, Magneto can control it. Because of the abundence of such and the implications of altering magnetic fields, Magneto possess massive destructive power, at only a risk of great strain to himself.[/b] It takes much greater strain and he rarely chooses to use it due to such, but Magneto can in fact manipulate, sense, and project any form of energy one might encounter within the EM spectrum. Potentially, if he so desired, he could create a lightning storm on par with Thor as part of electromagnetic radiation, create a blazing inferno that would make Pyro jealous through infrared waves, and bend the lights as good as the Invisible woman to become concealed himself. Here’s another thought: Among the EM spectrum is also X-rays, Gamma rays, and UV rays. That sunburn doesn’t compare to what he could do to a person’s skin, nor does Hiroshima look like anything more than a cork gun to him. He has also, in the past, created an actual Worm hole and transported through it safely. Be gad he doesn’t decide to just turn the sun into as black hole. Cause he could do it.
- Magnetic Force Fields - by manipulating the magnetic energy around him and anyone else, Magneto is able to create a force field at will. Usually it is active around him at all times, though he will expand it outwards to protect others if he so desires. It has withstood insurmountable power attacking it, including Galactus himself. If wishing, Magneto can also use these force fields for containment, hitting ot trapping a foe within it.
- Magnetic Flight - Ustilizing any number of means, be it riding the magnetic waves of the earth or creating a repulsor field, Magneto can in fact, fly. He can achieve this over long distances and at great speeds, though is limited in space travel by the amount of air he can contain within his magnetic Force fields. Within the atmosphere though, there is no limit to Magneto’s flight.
- Geomagnetic Link - Due to the nature of Magneto’s powers, he is in fact able to sense, feel, and know all that happens to the Earth’s EM field at the instance it happens. As the magnetic field is altered by any means, he instantly knows and it alters him. Solar winds or other effects are a pain.
- Metal Manipulation - Due to the nature of magnetism, Magneto can manipulate even organic metals at a whim. Though he is limited to substances made of metal, he can manipulate others by manipulating EM fields to shape them or even move them. Substances of Metal, however, magneto can easily manipulate on the atomic level.
- Metallic Bonding - by manipulating the EM fields of objects, Magneto can bond alloys together. This is accomplished on the Atomic level, and has far reaching implications. As long as it is metal to metal, he can in fact bond them without the need of any outside force.
- Organic Iron Manipulation - magneto can manipulate the iron in a bloodstream and body of organic matter, effectively making someone his puppet. There is only a small amount of Iron, so he can produce only limited effects, but ripping the adamantium off of Wolverine’s Skeleton is still a frightening prospect in itself. Typically he can increase or decrease blood flow via these means.
- Electromagnetic Sight - By concentrating, magneto can gain the ability to see Magnetism. He can percieve the EM fields of objects as well as the EM fields of the earth itself. They tend to show up in wave like patterns, and doing this can allow for greater and more precise manipulations as well as finding people or things via their distinct EM signature.
- Superhuman Strength - On average, Magneto has no more strength in his body than a well-trained athlete. But by manipulating his own or another’s Magnetic field (Typically his own), he can increase his strength. So far measured at super-human, it’s possible with great strain he could go toe to toe with the Hulk and Thor by doing this.
- Superhuman Stamina - More a sub-affect of manipulating his strength, it also increases the efficiency of his body as well. With the added effect of Magnetism manipulation, Magneto’s muscle produce far less fatigue toxins. It takes him quite the time before He would eventually be forced to stop thanks to the toxin buildup.
- Superhuman Durability - While normally his durability is no more than a well-conditioned athlete for the Olympics, with bit of that Magnet magic, magneto can fix this. By manipulating the fields of himself or another--though almost exclusively himself--he can cause himself to have superhuman durability. This can allow him to withstand blows from strongest of foes and remain conscious, though to some degree is usually combined with his force field.
- Superhuman Reflexes - Naturally Magneto himself possess powerful reflexes. Yet, with the added ability to sense and control EM fields, he can both sense incoming blows and give himself a temporary boost. This has prevented even foes who can naturally attain a speed far faster than him to get a headache.
On top of this, Magneto also possess a smaller, secondary ability, Electromagnetic Spectrum Manipulation.
Finally, Magneto possess Telepathic Resistance through various factors. Even without his special helmet, Magneto has undergone intense mental training. This is further augmented by the magnetic fields he can produce and control. [/blockquote]
Weaknesses:
The biggest weakness to Magneto's powers is in fact his Physical wellbeing. If Magneto is weakened, his powers are not as strong as they could possibly be. The nature of Magnetism puts a great strain on his body and prevents him from utilizing his powers for great lengths and long periods of time. It's because of this he tends to put others in the line of fire before him. Yet he is not caring to these people, or at least, was not at first. He does, in fact, see himself as a Ruler, and therefore everyone is beneath him. Mutants may be equal, but some are, naturally, more equal than others. His Ego is so great that it actually means he has very little whom he considers a friend, or who can consider him to be a friend. Perhaps the only suggestion is Charles, whom he shares a friendly rivalry with.
Magneto's own powers are immense and so varied in how he can apply the manipulation of EM fields, but even he has his Limits to Powers. While he can use the Magnetism to create a Forcefield of immense size with which to contain air, vacuums or oxygen-absent environments can still suffer effects upon him should he run out of the air. What's more, due to contracting Hepatitis in a concentration camp working as a SondorKommando, Magneto's physical health is weakened considerably. Years of medical studies have let him function normally, but he will never be what he could be as far as his own health. Finally, if he exerts himself too much, he can suffer from Power Loss for an untold amount of time.

Background:
"I know... something of grief. Search throughout my homeland, you will find none who bear my name. Mine was a large family and it was slaughtered – without mercy, without remorse. So speak not to me of grief, boy. You know not the meaning of the word!"
The year is 1935, and in the German city of Nuremburg, the Eisenhardt family is together before dinner. Jakob, the Eldest, is having commentary with his younger brother Erich, before young Max shows up and hands his father the pieces to a jewelry necklace, showing his own that he has made at the age of only 9 years old. Erich knows exactly why the boy has made such a necklace so carefully, and drops the ball by correctly guessing that Max has a girl whom he has developed a crush on. Said girl, is young Magda, a Gypsy who works as a custodian at the school which Max has attended. During one gym class, max is pushed, kicked, and Beaten to the ground by other students during the competitions, but shows up everyone by throwing the Javelin at the furthest distance of all in an attempt to impress the young girl Magda. He wins he gold medal for it, and later that evening, presents Magda with the necklace he has made for her. Upon giving it to her though, he turns and sees a horrific site: His Uncle Erich is beaten in front of a crowd for shaming a German woman, and the Nuremburg Laws are passed.
Upon returning to the academy the next day, Max is accused of cheating in the Javelin toss, and told to return the gold medal he won unless he can recreate the toss with a regulation Olympic Javelin. He is distraught, but upon seeing Magda, he once more tosses the Javelin, recreating the toss he did the day before. For this display, max is not rewarded, but expelled, forced to leave the school for no other reason than the fact he is a jew. On his way out, he witnesses his teacher, Herr Kalb, carried out by SS agents, not to be seen again within the school grounds, and then Max is beaten by his former schoolchildren. Distraught, he returns home and begins acclimating to the worsening conditions. In an attempt to spark some hope, Max is taken by his father to Berlin during the Olympics, in hopes that seeing an old war buddy Major Scharf might help the family and return Jakob to his government position. This backfired though, as Jakob was beaten and would have been killed if Schraff had not stopped them, claiming them to now be “Even“ as far as he was concerned.
A few short years later, and Max Eisenhardt is picking through trash for some money when some of his former classmates jokingly toss him a coin, commenting on his Jewish nature to pick for trash for every cent of coin. But max does not stand down, and instead tosses the boy into the muck before picking up the coin with a joking “Thanks.” Another Jew passing by chuckles at the affair, and then is hit with a brick by the proud Germans, Max opting to return after having hid and fight back against them. He returns to his family, alarming them with the welt on his head and chin, but brings the two coins to his mother. His uncle Erich proposes leaving and fleeing to Poland, but Jakob hears none of it, and instead lays down the first rule for living in the Nazi Regime: That if you fight back, they’ll stomp in your head.
But later that evening, Max witnesses he Germans kicking in doors to Jewish homes, and immediately tells his father that they need to go. They escape through a graveyard in time to witness the Synagogue and their neighborhood destroyed and turned upside down by the German army. Jakob looks to wish to try and fight, but Erich, previously someone who would fight, reminded Max’s father of the rules, and kept him from doing so. This is the night of Kristallnacht, when the Germans raided tens of thousands of Jewish homes and neighborhoods. The Eisenhardts quickly flee to Poland, but only in time to witness the horrifying event of the German invasion of September 1939. His family attempt to flee, running into a forest as other Jewish families are cut down behind them. They reach Warsaw, alongside nearly 150,000 Jews, and are eventually forced into a walled off Ghetto by November of 1940.
During a cold night in December, Max is witness to some German SS soldiers killing a young Jewish boy for simply escaping the Ghetto out of curiosity, and prepares to fight back when his uncle Erich stops him. He warns young Max that fighting back would mean murdering hundreds more Jews, prompting the boy to fight simply by surviving. He finds some coin with which he buys a tomato and half a pound of beef, showing it to his father before being told to bring it to his sister Ruthie, who is sick from starvation. His mother brings some soup to his ailing sister, and gives her enough strength to continue onwards, and thereby continue the Eisenhardt family’s wish to fight. But barely a year later, and the mass migration of Jews to concentration camps begins. Max reports to his father and Uncle having spotted blood on the trains, and that night they plan to escape. Erich opts to stay behind in the Ghetto to help fight, whilst the remainder of the Eisenhardts flee via boat. But the Eisenhardts are betrayed, and are caught by German soldiers. They are lined up alongside others in front of a pit, knowing what is to befall them. But as the German’s shoot, Max remembers what his father had told him the previous night leaving the Ghetto.
“Sometimes, you get a moment, when everything lines up. When anything is Possible. When suddenly… you can make things happen.”
Max remembers these words, hearing them in his father’s voice within his mind as the bullets come, but do not hit mark. Instead, his father Jakob pushes the boy down and into the pit, taking his place and getting hit by the bullets instead. Max for a moment lays amongst the dead bodies of his family and other jewish people, before clambering out of the pit and fleeing once more. He is discovered by German soldiers and forced aboard one of the transport trains. Then, in the evening of one September day in 1942, the train arrives at it’s destination. Auschwitz.
It is here, at Auschwitz, that Max is reunited with his teacher Herr Kalb, and told to call him Fritz. Kalb warns him to give anything small and valuable to him, and to tell the Nazi’s that he is eighteen and wants to work. By doing so, he narrowly avoids death at the hands of the Gas chambers, and is instead forced to remove his clothes, shower, be immunized, and then put on his new work clothes. He is told by Kalb that he will work on getting Max transferred to Kanada Kommando, the best job in the camp, but on the day he is to be transferred, he is instead forced to work at theGas chambers, collecting clothing and disposing of the bodies in crematories as a Sonderkommando. In two years, he witnessed thousands upon thousands of Jews be burned, gassed, and killed, having to rifle through their bodies like rats. He even witnesses his last friend, Kalb, be gassed and burned. In desperation, he composes a small letter, warning whoever finds it to plead never to let such cruelty ever to happen again. He is ready to die, having seen too much, when he catches a glimpse within the Gypsy camp. There is a glint of metal and jewelry, and he recognizes the hands and face of Magda. With a renewed vigor in knowing that his childhood crush lives, Max returns to the line and continues his duties.
Over the years, Max works and smuggles things to Magda so she might get some luxury. He recommends working for a Nurse named Shulman, a deal worked with an SS officer at the camp. Max continues working, but in June of 1944, he learns they plan to empty out the Gypsy camp, putting Magda at risk at the end of July. A rebellion is planned, but delayed two weeks to late to possibly save her. He warns her, and finds she has heard the same. Max then gives her specific instructions to save her, telling her to escape on a train and, should she not make the train, to hide in a corpse pile, so the Leichen Kommandos might bring her to him. On August 2nd, the Gypsy camp is liquidated on what has become known as “Ziguenernacht”, or Gypsy Night. Here, max learns that Magda has escaped, thankfully, though warned she will probably be experimented upon.
In October, Max learns that Magda returned after half her transport died at Buchenwald, and he quickly works with the Liechen Kommandos to transport her by hiding her amid the corpse pile. She is brought to him, and he threatens the other Jews who try to convince him to give her up. Some others agree it’s finally time to stand up when suddenly, Crematorium IV is blown up in the revolt as the starter signal. He once more remembers his father’s words, a continuation from when he remembered them so long ago.
“Sometimes in this life, you get a moment… a time when everything lines up, when anything is possible. When suddenly, you can make things happen. God help us if we take that moment, and got forgive us if we don’t.”
In a blinding rush, Max, Magda, and many other jews escape from Auschwitz, running like devil dogs from hell. They would run for years, escaping to a Carpathian mountain village where they finally settled down. Max would return four years later, finding the note he left behind. Re-reading it, he would recall all of the memories of his time spent here, including contracting a bout of hepatitis at the camp, and would swear never to let this happen again. On that day, Max Eisenhardt died, and soon after returning to his village, sought out a forger to change him to Erik Lehnsherr, a fitting change that also, in a way, paid tribute to his uncle who fought to protect his Jewish people. Max added the name Magnus as a middle name, and once and for all Max died, and Erik became his new identity.
Sadly, Erik did not enjoy living amongst the gypsy people in the Carpathian mountains, and opted to relocate his family, now with new Daughter Anya in tow, to the then named Soviet city of Vinnitsa within the Ukraine so he might work as a carpenter with better pay. Yet, in secret, Erik had noticed his powers finally developing, and during this time, consciously hurled a crowbar at his boss at the time for trying to cheat him out of pay. But things would go greatly bad for Erik once more, as he would return to the Inn where his family stayed only to find it being burned. Magda had gotten away, but Anya was stuck on the top floor of the burning building. Erik did his best to try and save her, but it seemed his boss did not enjoy crowbars magnetically flying at him, and called the KGB upon him. They held him down as he witnessed his helpless daughter Anya burn alive, reminded of the burnings of the concentration camps. Overwhelmed by the calamity and the sudden emergence of Erik’s powers, Magda fled, unknowingly with children, and left Erik to only be able to call for her for help in burying their daughter. But KGB would prevent him from doing so, swarming upon him and firing a shot directly to his head. He would survive, and then turn the KGB’s very own guns upon them.
Erik would then travel to Israel, volunteering to help victims of the holocaust as a sympathy feeling towards them. It is here he first met the man known as Charles Xavier, quickly becoming friends with the man and often enjoyably debating with him on the role of mutants in human society and their existence together. Yet, despite all this debating, neither showed one another the fact that they were both, in fact, mutants. Yet their hiding of powers could not remain hidden, as both would eventually be forced to reveal themselves when their friend Gabrielle Haller was kidnapped by Baron von Strucker. They assaulted the HYDRA base and in the process revealed their powers, Erik taking the Nazi gold and departing after realizing the differing viewpoints of Charles and himself were far too dissimilar to be compatible.
For a time after, Erik attempted to remain as a person who would do good for the world, working for British MI6 to capture Nazi war criminals. Yet while working for this agency, Erik would instead act as a double-agent for the Israeli Secret Service and deport the criminals to the country for trial and eventual execution. MI6 knew of this, though did nothing so long as the criminals were those who the USSR had optioned. But upon capture and attempted transfer of Nazi Hans Richter, MI6 stepped in and committed a heinous act by murdering his girlfriend Isabelle before his very eyes. In a blind rage, Erik killed everyone there and cowed only to be referred to as magneto from then on, beginning his plan to take down the Human race and bring up his race, Homo Superior. He sought out Cassandra Michaels in Brooklyn under the guise of “Michael Xavier”. During this time he entertained the idea of becoming a Hero with his outlandish colorful costume, but decided else wise when Cassandra, who he had to save, showed ungratefulness for her rescue.
Magneto, as he now was calling himself, resurfaced from within his grand Space Station “Asteroid M”, leading a Brotherhood of Evil Mutants to conquer and subdue the human race, protect mutankind and be their savior, and lead operations. He found his first two recruits in Pietro and Wanda Maximoff. Neither really wanted to be there, but Wanda felt she owed Magneto her loyalty and Pietro would not leave his sister. Xavier eventually met with Magento on the anniversary of his escape from Auschwitz, pleading with him to change his ways. These pleas went unheard though to a man with a cold heart and a manic mind.
What followed began a series of clashes between Magneto’s Brotherhood of Evil Mutants and Xavier’s X-Men. Their first clash was Magneto’s first act of terrorism on Cape Citadel, with Magneto being thwarted in his takeover. Magneto eventual overthrew the Santo Marco government, causing a second major clash with the X-Men. In the process, Magneto captured Angel, but at a great cost: When the X-Men sought to bring him back, his Asteroid M was destroyed. The Brotherhood would withdraw from another Battle at hammer Industries upon the arrival of a Sentinel. The Evloutionairies then revealed themselves to Magneto, believing him to be the ruler of all mutant kind. Wishing to protect the advancement of Homo-superior, they worked with Magneto to capture the young Emma Frost and bring her to the X-men’s Cerebro. They were stopped by Beast, and their minds erased of the incident after Cyclops vowed to protect mutant kind.
Magneto would attempt, but fail, to recruit the Thunder god Thor and the Atlantean King Namor to his side, but in the process taking control of the Atlantean army and attacking, only to be defeated by the Fantastic four. He would be captured by the Stranger and brought to his homeworld, leaving Quicksilver and Wanda to depart and join the Avengers after having received enough mistreatment at the hands of Magneto. He would return, and, over time, continue to fight many times for mutant rights in a terrorist fashion. Eventually his demands to the UN were given in, and he was granted a nation for mutants to live, the country of Genosha off the coast of Africa.
No One Likes a Show-Off
Skills:
- Genius Level Intellect - Magneto has an intellect and knowledge that can rival the geniuses of Tony Stark, Reed Richards, and Stephen Strange. His breakthroughs in physics due to his understanding of Magnetism would place him among the most reveered individuals if he shared it. This, combined with his magnetic inventions, make him a powerfully smart intellectual.
- Military Training - Due to some time working for MI6, Magneto has more than a rudimentary skill in hand-to-hand combat.
- Skilled Strategist - His knowledge in the field of combat and tactics makes him an excellent leader for teams.
- Multi-lingual - Magneto is fluent in English, French, Polish, Russian, Hebrew, Ukrainian, German, and Yiddish.
Equipment:
- Magneto's Helmet - a specialized helmet with specific technology built into it that allows Magneto to have near-perfect immunity to telepathic assault.
- Armor - Magneto's suit is less spandex and more lightweight bonded alloy. The metals that make up his suit are lightweight and flexible, but hard and durable when needed, putting it on par with the Iron Man armor.
Anything else?: As of having become Leader of Genosha, Magneto doesn't much actually use his powers anymore in a large, world threatening scale. He will still do parlor tricks once in a while such as bringing a cup closer to him, but restricts the usage greatly to conserve strength.
To Meet Expectations
RP sample:
Hammer Bay, Genosha. There stands a grand monumental palace in it's center, built entirely out of metal structures. It stands as a testament to it's lord and ruler, the grand Magistrate Erik Lehnsherr, better known and referred to as Magneto. It is here that he stands, the grand window panes looking out upon the city's square and it's beautiful architecture. He looks down, the statue below looking back up to him as a reminder of what he has accomplished so far, and what more can be done. What more could this man do? So much more. He had established a country, built a nation, protected it's citizens... Yet thousands more mutants still were persecuted and tried every day for just existing. How could he possibly help them all?
Well, certainly easily enough, Magneto could expand the nation. Africa and Madagascar was only right there, and their existed plenty of land. But it was too early for that. Far to early. He closed his eyes, thinking on the past and his options. So many, yet he needed to plan. Magneto needed to make sure that a plan was made, a strategy and tactics made to best accomplish his goals. He had Genosha for now, and that would work well as a cover. So far as anyone knew, the Brotherhood was disbanded. A perfect cover, seeing as the demands of it had been met as far as the UN was concerned.
With a easy movement around, Magneto pushed a button on his desk, a small electronic buzz echoing through the room. "Prepare my the jet. It's time I went to our New York Embassy." He released the button before even a confirmation could be made, looking back to the window and his reflection within it. "Perhaps it's also time Charles and myself have another talk. See if I can't persuade him to Genosha's cause..."
