Bobbie is an attractive woman with a light brown complexion. Her face is decorated with expressive brown eyes, perfectly shaped eyebrows, an average size nose, and plump lips. Power Corrupts Absolutely
Power Origin: Mutant
Powers:
Bobbie is a mutant that has been blessed with the gift of alternative vision. What this means is that she is able to switch between different modes of vision without the aid of technology. Whenever she is uses these alternative visions the pupils and irises change color accordingly with the exception of micro and telescopic vision.
Green represents the use of night vision. When using night vision she can see in complete darkness because ambient light particles are amplified, and everything takes on a slightly green tint.
Red is the color that represents heat/thermal vision. Just like the special targeting system used by military personnel, she can see the heat signatures that living and nonliving objects emit. This is a great way for her to detect movement even through solid surfaces.
Blue represents electromagnetism. This allows Bobbie to see the interference that electrical devices give off. Anything that works on electricity becomes highlighted in a blue tone for her to identify. Radios, telephones, electronic cameras, et cetera are all visible even when the area is blanketed in darkness.
Bobbie also possesses the ability to see in the micro and telescopic ranges. Her maximum output for telescopic range is 300 yards away which is the equivalent of three football fields. Something about the size of a human at that distance appears as if it were standing only a couple of feet in front of her. Like a microscope, Bobbie is able to see objects that are normally far too small for the human eye to comprehend such as bacteria and cells.
Weaknesses:
Unfortunately there are some drawbacks that can occur when using her different visions. For night vision, she becomes very vulnerable to intense lights as they can temporarily blind her, leaving her completely open to attack. She also can not see through thick smoke or fog when using this form. While using thermal vision is excellent for spotting hidden people, this vision becomes practically useless when she is in an area or next to an object that is giving off a lot of heat. For instance, if someone were to stand next to a large piece of operating machinery they would be masked by the heat signature. When Bobbie switches over to electromagnetism, it is only useful if the object she is looking at is turned on and running. So if a security camera is not operational it would not be highlighted, but rather blend in with the rest of the environment. Also it becomes harder to distinguish what exactly is around her since everything not electronic becomes obscured.
Bobbie is left vulnerable from the sides whenever she is using micro and telescopic visions since she goes into a sort of tunnel vision. Anything that is not in a direct path in her line of sight she becomes unable to see. This is dangerous when out in the field without some kind of safe position.
Getting to the Root of the Problem
Personality:
Bobbie Fisher is a woman of strong will and determination and always has been. Even as a child, she knew what it was in life that she wanted and knew how to go about getting her heart’s desires. Stubborn is a word that was tossed around a lot by her parents, teachers, and just about everyone that knew her well. That stubbornness probably comes from her mother since she is so set in her ways. Once Bobbie sets her eyes on a prize she will not stop until she gets it. That prize may be something as simple as doing a set number of pushups in under a minute or as complicated as saving lives. The fact of the matter is that there is no force on Earth that will stop her from achieving set goals, at least in her opinion.
One may think that her military career has made her a hardened individual. While it is true that she has become better suited to deal with certain situations, Bobbie by no means is an emotionless drone. She is a woman of kindness and compassion. Her choice of profession is proof that she cares for everyone, even complete strangers. She can empathize with individuals. Bobbie has taken time out of her own life to visit patients in the past and bring just a little bit of joy. Her role as a mother clearly shows in the way she handles people. She likes to figure out the problems in people’s lives so that she can offer some assistance in correcting said problems, or at least put them on the correct path. Being a mother has also given her a lot of patience. Maybe in her younger days she would snap at someone, but now she waits things out and handles conflict in a mature manner.
Bobbie is not without her faults though. That stubborn nature of hers has gotten her into sticky situations in the past. There have been times where giving in would have been beneficial, but she just would not. Take her marriage for example. The issue of divorce probably would have never come up if she would have lowered her guns and accepted the lifestyle that her husband wanted for her. It was too compromising of self for her to deal with. Bobbie is quick to help others, but does not really let others do the helping. She knows people mean well, it is just that she prefers to do practically everything on her own, another factor that contributed to the divorce talk. Despite her shortcomings, Bobbie tries to keep a well rounded life and live it to full potential.
Family:
- Janet Fisher – Mother
- Isaiah Fisher – Father
- Calvin Roberts – Husband
- Patricia Roberts – Sister-in-law
- Dominic Roberts – Son
Background:
Bobbie Fisher was born in the city of Boston, Massachusetts. She was the first and only child of parents Isaiah and Janet Fisher. Her father was a military man serving on the front lines in times of war, specifically serving in the Vietnam War for a couple of years. After his stint was over with, he met a young woman by the name of Janet Jenkins and settled down with her in Boston. Growing up with a father that served in the military could be at some times tough for young Bobbie, but if she had to go back and change anything, she would not. She loved listening to all of his war stories, even the ones that would be considered inappropriate for the younger audience and learning battle techniques and strategies. The military life was very entertaining to her, but it was not the only lifestyle that she was heavily interested in.
Bobbie found herself taking a liking to the field of medicine thanks to television programs like St. Elsewhere and China Beach. Oh and the fact that her mother was a registered nurse did not hurt. Bobbie knew from an early age what it was that she wanted to achieve in life. There were no doubts in her mind about her future profession because she firmly believed that one day she would become a doctor. With her parents behind her offering love and support, she stayed on the correct path to reach that destination. At the age of eleven, just a year after puberty commenced, Bobbie began to go through changes that did not seem so “natural” as her parents and the health books called the others. It happened one day when she was at school sitting in class, struggling to read something small that was written on the blackboard. She squinted as hard as she could until suddenly the words appeared right in her face. The sudden close encounter caused her to suffer a serious headache and dizziness.
By the time she regained her composure everything was now too bright for her to see along with a hue tint. The teacher asked what was wrong, but Bobbie could not tell her because she did not know. When the girl opened her eyes, the teacher was taken back by her glowing green eyes. Her mutation had kicked in. Instantly the teacher put in a call to her parents who promptly came to get her out of school for the day. Bobbie, stunned and confused, wanted to know what was happening to her. On the ride home her father Isaiah recalled a time back in the war when he served with a young cadet that could throw people around with nothing but his mind. Bobbie was thrilled to know that she was not the only one out there with incredible abilities that seemed to come straight out of a comic book or science fiction novel. But the young girl would not be going out to display her powers for her parents thought it best that no one knew the truth. It was not a shame factor, but a concern for their daughter’s safety.
After that, life would go on for her as usual, only now with power experimentation when at home. A couple of years later in high school, Bobbie excelled academically, keeping her grades above average so that her goal of becoming a doctor could be achieved. It was this determination that led to her graduating second of her class. With the amount of scholarships being tossed at her left and right, Bobbie picked out Boston University for secondary education. At eighteen years of age, she packed up her belongings and left the nest. Instead of going for a regular education, she opted for the seven year medical program that the university was offering. This way she would receive her degree at a quicker pace. During her time in college, she met a young graphic design student, Calvin Roberts. Let him tell it and it was love at first sight, Bobbie’s version not quite. Truthfully she was not all that crazy about the man when they first met.
Calvin was a bit of a party boy, always out to have a good time. Bobbie was not a bookworm, but she was more preserved when it came to socializing. He stumbled across her one day when she was sitting outside in one the courtyards reading a book. She paid the boy no mind even though he was rather attractive. Calvin was persistent though. He saw something that he liked and would not stop until she was his. That determination is what eventually won her over. The two would date throughout their time in college, love binding them together. During her sixth year at the age of 24, Bobbie was taken as his wife. After completing her last year of secondary education, she took on a residency at the Boston Medical Center. Simultaneously she found out the very good news that she was pregnant. Nine months later little Dominic Roberts came into the world on March 3rd.
Once the three year residency was finished, Bobbie became an official doctor at Boston Medical Center. For the next five years she spent time saving lives as an emergency physician, giving her whole as a loving wife, and taking care of her child as a dedicated mother. But even with all of that going on, her old military interest resurfaced in a big way. It was a long and tiresome discussion with her husband with him being completely against it. He knew though that when she set her mind on something, she was going to do it regardless of someone else’s opinion. After getting her husband to be on board reluctantly, Bobbie enlisted with the U.S. Army at the age of 29 in 2007. She continued her schooling as well to further her degree. About a year in service while in Pakistan, the squad she was serving with was infiltrating a village heavy with Taliban activity. An intense combat situation broke out resulting in a life threatening injury to the lieutenant. Bobbie, using her impromptu skills, was able to save his life after dispatching the remaining opposing forces with the aid of her mutant powers.
She was able to use them to call out flanking maneuvers to the rest of the squad and pinpoint enemy locations. Because of her bravery, skill, and dedication, she was promoted to the rank of Sergeant First Class. At 33 years of age she returned home to Boston where her family waited with open arms. Life would return to relative normalcy, but the family decided that it was time for a change in scenery. They gathered their things and moved to the city of New York. With combat still in her blood, Bobbie made the decision to enlist with the government organization known as SHIELD. While she was happy saving lives in the ER, she felt that her talents were of greater service for such an organization. This is what led to a strain being put on her relationship with Calvin. Already there had been conflict because of decision to join the army, now she would be spending most of her time for another government outfit. Divorce was something that was brought up for awhile, but in the end they decided to stick it out and work through all of the issues. Ever since then she has been an agent of SHIELD.

RP sample:
It was a Thursday afternoon and Bobbie Roberts had the day off from work. While she was officially off duty she was still on call since being a member of SHIELD meant that one was never truly done with their work. It was what she signed up for so the woman could not complain, not that she ever would. This kind of life she had been living for a very long time now. Being in the medical field she was always just one beep away and in the army she had to stay on her toes at all times, especially when in Pakistan. But today though, she was going to relax and enjoy the sunlight. The mature woman sat outside on the patio of her favorite deli, sipping on a latte and talking on the phone.
”So how are things going, Darren? You keeping those grades up?” her nephew was off attending college back in Boston. ”That’s good to hear. Hm? Oh yes, definitely. There’s never a dull moment when you’re working for a government agency that keeps us enhanced people in check.” She chuckled a bit. ”When are you and your mom coming to visit us? Well I’m looking forward to it, sweetie.” While she was enjoying conversation with her only nephew, there was an explosion up ahead in a small convenience store followed by screams. Bobbie peered down the road, standing from her seat. ”Darren, I’ll call you later. Something has just come up with work. Okay. I love you too, baby.” Stuffing the cell phone into her back pocket, she pulled out a couple of bucks and placed them under the porcelain cup for the waitress.
Bobbie leaped over banister and then activated her telescopic vision. About 100 feet ahead she could see a young man wearing dark clothing, standing outside of the convenience store holding what looked like an explosive device. She was going to have to take him down hard and fast to keep any more damage from happening, and more importantly the loss of life. There was never a dull moment when one worked for SHIELD.
