Power Corrupts Absolutely
Power Origin: Mutant
Powers:
Enhanced senses - Primary
Hearing Kaden's sense of hearing is his strongest. With a range of up to 500 meters in prime conditions, or 150 in a place like New York, he can hear mostly anything that he needs to without having to be too close to what he needs to listen to. Kaden can actually tune out noises with meditation and practise, but stress and anxiety will deflect all efforts. Kaden also has a hearing range that covers most areas. Dog whistles especially annoy him.
Sight Also a fairly powerful sense, this one is far more controllable than his sense of hearing. At optimum efficiency, he can see about as far as he can hear.
Touch A sense of touch isn't very useful, and is not prized above the others, but it does have its uses. Kaden can sense changes in pressure and temperatures and can track vibrations through the ground. It's also pretty handy if he's combing a room for any hidden doors in walls.
Taste Kaden's sense of taste is third prized in his arsenal. Being able to taste minute traces of anything that touches his tongue. You used paprika in that pot three days ago? He can taste it. Only a dash of cinnamon you say? Less than. This is especially useful when he starts tasting poisons. Amusing as it is, it does help him know who's trying to kill him so he can get there first. Or at least, it'll put him on guard.
Smell Even if he couldn't taste it, Kaden would certainly be able to smell the poison or cinnamon or even what kind of deodorant you used several days ago or anyone you touched. Different strong emotions also give off different smells and he does like to keep a tab on how people fell. Without unnatural intervention, Kaden can smell anything that's been in the area for up to the last four days.
Healing factor - secondary
Kaden's secondary power, though the first to show, is a healing factor. This enables destroyed or damaged areas of his body to regenerate at a much faster rate than a normal humans and renders him immune to most toxins at low levels. Larger wounds take longer to heal, but will heal. As decapitation has not been tried, nor has extended removal of limbs, it is unknown if he would be able to regrow a whole body/limb given the time. Organs can be regrown, but it is unknown if the heart can be.
Physical attributes Due to his healing factor and constant healing, as well as his training, Kaden had reflexes enhanced beyond a regular humans. He can catch a plate midair with his foot, or he could catch it with his hand and not spill any food. His durability and stamina also allows him to work out full days without much difficulty and he can stalk prey for days without needing to rest. His strength too, if considerable. Kaden can lift up to four times his body weight without needing a spotter.
Kaden is also capable of heating up, or cooling down his body at will.
Repressed feralness The above powers make him a feral. As such, he is sometimes prone to animalistic fits of rage. He has a fairly solid set of instincts like going to sleep where there's a thunderstorm. But, luckily this shit will never happen because he'sbettertrained far better than that.
Ferrokinesis - Result of experimentation
Due to the genome bonding, Kaden has the ability to control metal. While the majority of his powers are touch based, he is capable, with great strain and no reward, able to pull trace amounts of metals out of things. He is also capable of pulling metal through non-metalic objects, but also finds this far too strenuous for little reward. When he has metal within his grasp, Kaden can change the density, structure, and even molecules of the metal. He cannot change bonded adamantium or control it at all.
With metal, he is likely to create malleable blades that help with fighting, killing, or torturing. He can, when using metal that isn't from his cuffs, leave the metal in the shape he has formed it into. Kaden can feel metal within a 20 metre radius of his person and can lift a max of five to six times his body weight, but has never had to, and probably never will. It would be expected that he would wear himself out within twenty minutes of prolonged lifting. To hide his cuffs, he usually just wears long sleeves.
Weaknesses:
Limited social skills. Cannot express real emotion (but can pull off a convincing fake when he knows when to use it). Kaden can understand regular phrases of speech but does not engage. Mediocre chatter and small talk are beyond his grasp at the moment. Must always answer rhetorical questions.
Despite his powers, Kaden can still be kill. He will even kill himself if it means a successful missions, he'll just... come back to life. Give him a few hours. Very large amounts of poison will cause, issues, but try getting it in first. Healing is also not instant, he can bleed out. Decaptiation is the suggest method of permenant death.
Kaden has MAJOR issues with telepaths. While in Siberia, he was trained to shut down completely when a telepath entered his head. Surface readings will cause processing and memory to shut off and an attack command activates. This can last between five minutes and half an hour. Telepathic digging will cause all parts of his brain to shut off and he will drop. There is a small telepathic block that can deter most lower level telepaths, but it would just be an annoyance for a stronger telepath until his brain shut off .3 seconds later.
Kaden finds it hard to disobey an order. Ever. He has become a lot better and judging who to take orders from, but put the word in there and he'll pretty much do it regardless of who you are. Orders cannot break through a feral rage though, so that's nice.
Akin to X-23, Kaden was manipulated against a specific scent. The chemical smells may be different, but it works the same. Sniff, kill, wait for the rage to die down. General annoyances include: pepper spray, dog whistles, air horns.
Getting to the Root of the Problem
Personality:
Generally, Kaden is a fairly level headed person. He does have a short temper, but it's kept in check very well and used only when it benefits him. He can be logical, and usually is. Things have an order and Kaden likes to keep them that way. If he is forced to work within a group, Kaden immediately attempts to take control with whatever means possible. Be this fear, intimidation, bribery or blackmail. When he is not in control, Kaden has a habit of keeping his fists clenched.
When on a mission, or an assignment, or whatever, Kaden is focused and single-minded. This can, and often does, leak into his personal life where if he has something on his mind, he won't stop until it's finished. Kaden will also do whatever it takes to get something done. Not being limited by morals, silly things really, he will use deception, blackmail, murder, torture, kidnapping and disinformation to get what he needs, or to get the job done. Kaden is also sympathetically vacant, that emotion having been removed long ago allows for him to do some otherwise heinous acts.
While he is seemingly incapable of forming actual emotions for himself, he does understand them in other people. From fear (especially fear) to lust. Kaden is only partial to these responses and unless required, anything other than what he needs is largely ignored. He does not know how to reciprocate emotions or respond properly and will often just stare or turn around and leave. 'Peaceful negotiations' is not in his vocabulary.
Kaden has a hard tendancy to lean towards exercise too. It's at least 48% of his personality. Between three to six hours sessions, twice a day. He doesn't need to take breaks, so this can sometimes extend to a full day of flat out running. And don't interupt him during a night session. He will peel your face off with a shoelace.
There is something to be said that Kaden cannot accept help. Or at least, he doesn't like to. If someone implements themselves in, then he hasn't asked, and that's okay, but just don't ask him first. He will likely push that person away. Kaden is, however, a wonderful listener if you tell him that he must. He can listen to any trouble and then offer not so helpful advice such as a punch in the face. Last but not least, Kaden specializes in loyalty. He is protective over few people, but once in his circle, he would pull out all the stops to help someone. Kaden is also highly protective of his past. Just don't go there.

Background:
Born the first of twins, Erich was always a quiet child. In January, two months before his birth, Goverment and Military officials, in secret, decided to set up a training program for young children. The younger, the better. The idea was to train the babies from birth to adulthood where they form elite groups to perform black missions that the Government could then deny. General Hanz Brandt and General Friederick Diederich. Hanz, in charge of the overall operation, demanded 300 boys, all with an O positive blood type. Diederich, along with his second OTL Adolf Baer were charged with accumulating the children.
Naturally, the only place they could start, were hospitals. Erich had been born in the University Hospital of Frankfurt, seven minutes before his brother. Unlike a lot of the other babies, Erich was rather quiet. Aside from some initial crying, as soon as he settled in, he was completely comfortable to just lay around and look at what was going on around him. Ada was more than pleased at her new babies, but a few days before she was set to take them both home Diederich and Baer went through the hospital and looked at all the babies up to a week old. Erich, being so quite and inquisitive, was chosen early on. His mother, however, was having none of it. At one point, she was close to shoving a knive through his neck. Ada was forced to drop the issue entirely when Diederich pulled some pretty heavy blackmail on her.
All 300 newborns were kept at a facility in Dresden until they were six months old.Erich became just a number here. 97. A tag was placed into his wrist that monitored vital signs and he was shipped to a new facility just outside of Rostock. Here, thirty of the three hundred were watched over by Diederich and Baer until they were one and a half and able to run. Their last stop was an unspecified facility in the Siberian wilderness.
None of the observing military personell had any strong connection to any of the children which helped them to better train the children. As soon as the boys could mostly take care of themselves, the six wetnurses they had were paid off and downsized. Kaden was one of the earliest walkers and by the time they had moved to Siberia, he was quite happily running around while some of his teammates were still tripping over their laces. They were all spoken to in both German and Russian, the first two languages of many that they would learn. Despite being so young, this group had already been labelled as one of the ones to look out for and in one of their classes, Diederich came to inspect them individually. Kaden, still one of the quietest children, was noted for more reasons than just that by Diederich. There were high hopes placed already on his little shoulders.
At two and a half, the terrible two's weren't an issue. They'd been trained already very well. If they were to go shopping, there would be no screaming. Their classes had progressed to include running, swimming and hand-eye co-ordination exercises, as well as basic mathematics. This was one of their easiest years as far as training went. Besides mathematics, they thought the classes were okay and 'fun'. Mostly, it was just to keep them fit enough for the rigourous training that the following years would bring. Diederich, wanting his "to watch" class to be unparralled, didn't wait to ease the boys into training and by the end of the year, they were expected to compete at the level that would otherwise occupy the next three years. His platoon was going to be the best, whether they liked it or not.
Their third year seemed to fly by much faster than the previous, even though the obstacles they now faced were far more difficult. Weapons training was introduced in addition to their previous schedule as well as one designed to remove their emotions. Each day, for varying lengths of time, the boys were forced to sit down and watch animals or humans get killed. Mostly by dobermans or german shepherds, but often they were also witness to 'interrogations'. Kaden found himself becoming attracted to the blood and the impulse of killing, but managed to keep that locked inside. As soon as the boys had mastered blocking their emotions, or even losing them, the class was discontinued and like target practice commenced. Initially, this just involved killing small animals and learning to skin them and cut them up properly.
After a visiting Captain was witness to how far the Siberia boys had progressed in only a year, word spread through the other outposts and it became almost a competition for the officers in charge to have the best group of boys. Diederich couldn't get any higher in his career, but he liked to rub it in other peoples faces when he was doing better than them. The classes for the boys now started to get more in depth and intimate with the particular subject. Weapons and the human body were studied quite thoroughly as useless classes were phased out. Language lessons also progressed and the standard for staying within Diederich's group got higher. There wasn't an obvious problem with this for the boys though; they were already running up to five miles twice a day. It was noted, however, that personalities were developing after their stagnant period. They started to make their own decisions based on independent thought instead of their so far instilled training. Though, there was no rebellion, and their decisions were still heavily grounded in what they had been through. At least none of them wanted to be a lawyer, anyway. Some of the boys, like 44 and 114 were competitive while some were happy to just scrape even with the standard. There were the select few who excelled above and beyond the call of competitiveness. They knew they were good, and it was easy for them. Namely 97, 7, and 63 were always top three.
They liked to follow orders, they wanted to kill, and they certainly weren't going to let anyone get the better of them. From the original 300, only 230 had managed to remain up to this point. Only six were better than the expected and Hanz kept a special eye on these boys.
Even though none of the boys had what could be described as a solid emotion to share between them, they still formed loose partnerships. They would still kill each other if ordered to though, no problem. 97, 7 and 63 formed their loose group together, the hiercarchy putting Kaden as their 'leader'. All of the boys looked up to him as the prime example of the programme, not that he paid any attention. He just saw that he was capable of doing whatever was asked of him without much difficulty. As such, he was by far the favourite of all the teachers. The smartest, fastest... also the most blunt, of which often got him into trouble.
By five, English, strategy, military protocols and heavy weaponry were introduced. At this stage, it was do or die. They boys couldn't be rehabilitated or given back to their families, so they were disposed off if they failed to meet the base standard. Complaints, too, were unheard of after one particular boys decided to try his luck. They could either do it, and do it quickly, or they would be dispatched from the program. At Diederich's complex, where none of them complained, he had cut his stock by half, but only because he gave away the most useless ones to him to other groups. Moral boosters, he called them. The emotions in Siberia were as minimal as they could be. Anger, while not an encouraged feeling, certainly wasn't a punishable one either. Everything was to the point, by the book, and accurate. Only one thing hampered the collect restraint the boys had.
Before the year was out, a few of the more highly qualified groups were sent into some mountain ranges to see just how far they had progressed. This was a competition for the superivising officials and although the groups had their own territories, they did sometimes cross over. The Dresden group had been stationed closest to Kaden's. Despite neither having much reason to interact, there was a dispute over where exactly their borders lay and Kaden killed 218 by breaking open his skull. This was the first violent death to occur between two boys. After returning to their respective bases, every boy left in the program was given a tattoo with their base name on it (Kaden's group was Rostock) and their numbers underneath in white ink.
The following year wasn't so bad. A fair deal of information had been forcibly shoved into their little heads. When they were put into the forest again, this time it was to get them used to tracking and forest survival. It was no good to them being able to only survive on a solid routine after all. The major problem here was that any tempers the boys did have were allowed to flare and after a particularly heated disagreement, 97 shot 101 in the eye. In this occassion especially, Kaden stood out as the leader of the group. From then on, Kaden was always at the front during their runs and telling the others what to do. Whether it was out of fear or respect or something else entirely, Kaden didn't care. However, this disrupted the smaller groups and put them all in one hierarchy. This also coincided with their ranks that Diederich had, from the best boy, to the worst. In order, 97 was first, followed by 63 and 7, his original group, they were followed by 44, 13, 17, 29, 114, 6, 28, 13, 64 and 2.
As soon as Diederich noticed that the boys had their own hierarchy, he set to work destroying it by splitting them up and putting the boys into specialized programs. Most were individual lessons. Kaden and his original group were given weapons together though, which was already proving to be his favourite subject. These lessons focused mostly on what the boy was best at and gave them all a small sense of individuality. Should they ever be split up in the forest, those that tended to follow the group would still be able to hold their own.
One of the most exciting things for Kaden came when they were 8. The boys were paid for from select buyers and rented out for assassinations. The reason this largely worked was because who the hell would suspect an eight year old of torture and murder? Two things came out of this: they boys got used to cities and people; and it helped with their memory and directional skills in new places. The boys were mostly selected based on either their position in Diederich's books, or because of their looks. All money earnt from these jobs was split between a bank account should one of them need to go on a particularly long mission later, and then on the upkeep of the boys. Training cost money after all.
This continued for a year between classes. Though towards the end, the classes and training were cut considerably shorter or changed entirely. They were given faux briefings with manilla folders. This was how their missions would be given to them in the field. All they would need is a face, and a place to meet. The folder would be there. The perfect plausible deniability scenario. But being away from the other boys for so long, the hierarchy faced and when the boys were together again, fights became popular in establishing temporary leadership and dominance. By far 97 was the only one who had consistently came out on top. 7 and 63 were far too smart for the hassle of fighting with 97 and the three of them had never had a fight. At the end of their ninth year, a new boy was brought in to take 101's place.
Almost immediately 97 disliked the new boy and the tension when both were in the same room was almost tangible. The boy was from 218's division. The Dresden group, and was the best out of his 20 something team and the second best division altogether, after Kaden's own. In a matter of days, 98 had gone up in the ranks from #14 to #1 while Kaden was out on a week long assignment. Upon his arrival and shortly after his debrief, Kaden was livid. If anything, he hated major disruption in his group and 7 and 63 led Kaden to the general living space where 98 was.
Everyone knew what was about to happen. The only spots open for fighting were from 4-14. No-one had taken over the top three after they'd been established and as soon as 97 walked into the room, space was made for what was surely going to be a bloody mess. It wasn't hard for 97 to find his new enemy and he started toward the new boy. No-one was disappointed in the outcome of this meeting, but 98 hadn't crawled his way up from the bottom through bribery. The fight lasted well over an hour until 97 came out the victor and 98 was put in the infirmary with a coma for three weeks. The ranks returned to normal and when 98 finally regained consciousness, he found his new place in 4th.
The violence displayed in that fight had Diederich on edge. That sort of behavior had never been disciplined, but none of the boys had even shown that much aggression either. As long as it didn't interfere with his assignments, Diederich would just have to keep an eye on it and made sure it didn't cross over. He wouldn't have to worry about that for some time though, as the hiring stopped as suddenly as it had started and classes resumed. Swedish and Spanish were added to their language courses and fighting became a popular, albeit incredibly volatile and dangerous place. 97 and 98 retained their hatred for each other and it was always visible when they stepped onto the mats. Time and time again during hand-to-hand classes they would have to be separated and one of them sent out. Finally, 97 was taken out of group training entirely and placed with a professional fighter. During one of these lessons was when 97's first power surfaced. Though it had been showing for the last six months at least, this was the first time it really had the chance to show that it was there.
It was an armed fight with his new teacher. 97 had misinterpreted a move, a bluff, and received a deep gash across and into his shoulder. The cut had severed a vein and though blood spurted from the wound, 97 didn't pay any attention to it. His trained did though. He stopped 97 and tried to clean off the blood as best he could while it was still pouring through the cloth. At first it wasn't clear, but as the blood-flow slowed and 97's body quickly worked to heal the damage, Jake saw the edges of 97's skin stitching themselves back together until his skin was almost clear again. Only a small, dark purple scar remained where the blade had cut. Despite the initial worry over, Jake cut the session and took him to the infirmary and Crevan, the man in charge of armed and unarmed combat training sessions.
A demonstration was performed for Crevan, though on a much smaller scale. Crevan rang Baer, who in turn rang Diederich. Baer and Diederich arrived in hours and watched as they cut into 97's wrists and they healed. The stress of waiting around and having people fawn over him and the pressure of repeated severe injuries activated his primary mutation which was noticed far more quickly that his healing. Diederich placed 97 on a different training cycle to determine exactly what had changed in the charge. Here, they found that any cut, regardless of how big or small, would eventually heal. Larger wounds, and especially fatal wounds, took more time to heal. They never tested out decapitation, but removing a limb and holding it back in place seemed to stitch it up just the same. There was also a noticable increase in stamina and speed. His reflexes too, had gotten quicker. 97 was tried on many kinds of drugs also. Notably, tranquilizers. He was almost immune to low levels, but still susceptible to higher quantities.
As the testing continued, Diederich was always there to watch over Kaden's training. He oversaw it personally now, though, rather than Crevan. When he had exhausted Kaden in every physical and mental way possible to find the limits and loopholes of Kaden's powers, he consulted his boss who knew of a training facility, an entirely separate research entity, in Canada. A convoy from the Weapon X team came to check on Kaden and run him through their own paces. They saw his potential for experimentation, but after failing to secure a sale, they offered instead to share a resource. Of course, it was highly expensive and came with several written and notarized clauses. Baer and Diederich had obtained a metal manipulating genome, considered to be fairly weak in the eyes of Weapon X. Under the care of a Weapon X scientist, the genome was manipulated and toyed with to see how it would bond with Kaden's current genome pattern. Initial results looked positive and experimentation on Kaden started. The genome bonded better than they hoped for, but no powers showed up. After a further week of observation, the entire thing was passed off as a failure.
One of the clauses that Weapon X had organized was a trade. One of their current experiments, a scent trigger. Though they didn't give Diederich their scent, they gave him the means with which to create his own. The process, however, was only attempted on 8 of the Rostock group. By the time 97 escaped, he was conditioned to react violently to Rostock's mix of chemicals.
The process of testing Kaden apart from the boys had taken just over 6 months. 98 had taken this as an opportunity to regain his position as head of the pack and like past experiences, 7 and 63 filled 97 in as soon as he was reunited with the group. He didn't even try to contain his anger this time. Kaden saw red and another fight ensued. It was more placid than their original fight and only lasted roughly three minutes, 98 still remembered what had happened the last time. For the three weeks prior, while Weapon X had been testing him, Kaden had been fairly stationary. His muscles had relaxed somewhat and despite his affinity for fighting, he had to break back into the habit of doing it regularly, every day. 98 noticed this weakness and after a week he contested Kaden's leadership. While Kaden was adept at fighting, and used to it, 98 had been fighting the entire time and learnt some new tricks. It looked as if he would finally gain the leadership role from Kaden.
98 was working to back Kaden into a corner, and was quite successful at it. What neither they, nor anyone else had expected, was that 98 was backing him into one of the metal doors. This was when the MM genome activated and part of the doorway reformed around his hand as he touched it and shifted into the shape of a knife, an instrument he had been thinking he should have. Feeling and seeing it changed the tone of the fight entirely. 98 wasn't as proficient with knives as 97. In any capacity. 97 drove a gash through 98's shirt, barely missing the other boys skin as he did. It was the only time it was used the entire fight. After the first slice, Kaden ran active and reserve adrenaline. He had a new power and so far, he liked it.
This fight lasted more than two hours and Kaden's muscles started to easily remember some of the more complex things he did. When he forgot about the metal entirely, it dropped off his arm and returned to the door. 98 saw this and figured it a loss for 97 and attempted to finish the fight. He was too eager and found himself back in the infirmary with a fractured wrist, three broken ribs, a broken collarbone and a swollen eye. 97, once again, had not lost his position. 98, however, was a little snitch and told the doctor about 97 had done with the door. This time, Crevan was ignored and Braeden skipped his line of command and went straight to OTL Baer. Braeden was only lightly and half-heartedly reprimanded for ignoring the chain. Baer and Diederich were nearly ecstatic about the new display of powers.
For the next year and a half, Diederich stayed at the Siberian complex and oversaw all of 97's training once again. This time, though, he branched out and observed his eating habits and day-to-day way of handling things. He watched all of the fights between 98 and 97, observed the hierarchy remain intact (something that he wasn't as bothered about this time around), and changed the boys routines to suit the individual. More solitary classes were organized and 97 had repeated meetings with Baer and Diederich. This not only confused the boy, but it made him a little angry to be constantly singled out. It wasn't even that he wasn't used to it by now, but any longer than three days that he was away from the group, 98 tried to take over the top spot on the scratch.
Diederich didn't care. Nor would he have if Kaden had voiced his objections. He was usually kept away from the group for a week or two at a time. This was spent helping Kaden to gain control of his new powers and encouraging him to use them whenever he wanted. For easier access to metal, Kaden was fitted with metal cuffs on each wrist and a chain around his neck that were all fused to his DNA. He would never be able to remove them. Even though Kaden was being separated from his group, his training was not stopped this time. This was preferred as every time he went back to the group, he would have to fight 98 back into his 4th spot on the roster.
Now 13 and a half, 97 had had his powers established well with everyone. The limits had been reached and observed. Many times Diederich had tried to make them better, but he wasn't capable of doing that, and Baer couldn't help him either. So they were comfortable. Instead of fighting 98 every time he walked back into the complex, he too, had seemed to get the message and reluctantly, though automatically, relinquished his position to Kaden. The next six months were dedicated back to hiring and this time 97 had to compete with 98, who, for potential hirers, was listed as 2nd from pole. By December, word had worked its way around that they might go back to classes, but the hiring continued until June the next year. After the assignments stopped again, individual classes were temporarily disbanded and the group settled back into their regular numbers. Tracking and hunting session in the forest increased though, and Baer was happy with the progression of the group. Until December, this was how the year went.
Entering the start of their peak at 15, the boys had excellent muscle definition, above average, Olympic level fitness and enough self-thought to operate in whichever scenario they were placed into. In February, Diederich contact 8 other complexes in the system and put forward the idea of integrating the boys into groups they weren't accustomed with. It was almost unanimous that this was a brilliant idea for further seeing how they got along with people they didn't know; a subject that hadn't yet been broached. 97's group was shuffled and the names drawn from a hat. The only person from his original group that he knew was 98. Almost immediately after being placed in an enclosed forest setting, hierarchy's established. 97 was still in the top spot, but now 98 was 2nd without contest. Kaden was respected for his abilities, but he still managed to get into constent disputes with everyone. Luckily for them, they knew when to leave well enough alone because Kaden would stab them in the face.
While in their new groups, there was no hiring or training. They were sectioned off with their groups in the forest and let loose to 'play' for a year while being kept under slightly less strict observation. Anyone that didn't survive, oh well. By this stage, if they couldn't survive a year in the forest, they didn't want them anyway. Each group was given weapons, supplies of food and three sets of clothes each. As soon as the groups had settled into their places, the food drops stopped and they were left to forage and hunt on their own. However, 97 didn't like his group and shortly before the food stopped, he left his group to complete the rest of the year on his own. A boy from the group, 80, decided to follow him while 98 immediately took control of whoever was left over. On their own, 97 and 80 ran into others that had the same idea and had left their groups. Most tried to shoot or kill the two boys, but usually ended up being the ones that died. Those that left well enough alone continued on. 7 and 63 caught wind of 97's adventures and a few months of looking for him, finally found him. In all, three months of wandering around the enclosure, 97 had found 11 of his original group, and they had all left to join him. Shortly after he'd picked up the 11th was when 7 and 63 found them. 80 found his position in the group to be 7th place.
At the years end, 97's group was picked up somewhere near the center of the forest and as it was mostly the old group, they were taken back to their Siberian compound. When 98's new group was found, he was brought back and 80 was sent back to his old group.
Since being in the forest, a lot had changed for 97. He'd been thinking a lot about the training in Siberia and had started to have thoughts of not returning. When he was back, there were numerous, though relatively small, instances when he would flat out refuse to do something. In the end, he still did them, and his refusals were never vocal. In May, the groups was sent out into the nearby forest for a three week hunting session. A week in, 97 broke from the group and ran. 7 and 63 followed after him. They knew that it would be easier to catch them in a group, but they still kept together. If they got caught before they escaped, then they would all face the punishment together. They weren't caught, and 97 ended up leading them out of the country. From there, it really didn't matter where they went. 97 could sniff out jobs for himself, and they all had their own set of contacts to fall back on or get required documents from.
The entered France and continued to Paris. Sure this meant more people than that small towns they'd been in, and more people meant more police, but people also meant more killing. The cardio wasn't that bad either. After an initial slow start having to find a place for 7 and 63, because they did need to sleep, things picked up. Despite their closeness, the three did start to separate and a year later 7 had gone to Spain and 63 had settled in Brazil. It was a few weeks after 63 had left that Kaden got a call from some people in the Brotherhood that required a job done in France. How they'd gotten his number, he wasn't sure, and he didn't really care. They were paying and he was available.
This job was special to Kaden because apparently, the Brotherhood hadn't trusted him enough to get the job done on his own. While he had taken out the target himself, on the way out, he met a very confused looking woman who called him Scowley and tried to hug him. After initially blocking her advances, a cooler head prevailed and he asked her who she was instead of outright killing her. Turns out, he wasn't a testtube baby, or whatever, and he actually had parents. It took a while to instill this concept into Kaden, but after two days of getting to know his mother, who was apparently also an assassin, Kaden met his father. Now this man, he had heard of. With them, Kaden found out his real name, and that he had a twin brother and a younger sister. He elected not to see either of them because he figured that he wouldn't find anything in common with them. Instead, Kaden set off to the one place he hadn't gone to try and figure out his now messed up life.
Less than 48 hours later, Kaden arrived in New York. It seemed like somewhere he wouldn't get noticed, and it had a fairly large criminal underground. It took him all of a week to get him set up, and a month to install a secret house to his liking.
